GAMBLE ON PEACE Ridden by Lawrence Kaine
Tick Tock Sprint // August workout
Gamble on Peace was back in action after a long month's rest from the track. He was a well descent chestnut 3 year old who was pretty sneaky out there on the track. August weeks were coming up and the colt today was ridden by Lawrence Kaine since Chris Stevens was already set on riding one of the maiden colts for another race. Gambler was a bit wary of this jockey but, he didn't care who was riding him out there he would do his best.
Upon the colt's back Lawrence was a bit short on the colt but, looked towards Mason the trainer. "I know it's a bit early for this workout but, early is good. So far all I've heard is Lynara's Kingdom is one of his opponents, don't get cocky Lawrence she's a G2 filly that likes to be all over out there so watch out she's a sneaky one alright." The trainer said setting up the rest of the adjustments on both saddle and halter for Lawrence. "Got it coach." Lawrence said in return.
Gambler was only listening into the conversation while urged to move forward he did just that. The colt was wanting to get this workout done with his energy and attitude. Lawrence was prepared for this race being he was a member of the staff team at Bowen Acres he had never ridden on a grade 5 or higher horse before. A new bond had to form sooner or later. "We're friends aren't we boy, everything will be okay you won't even know I'm here." He said telling the colt as to come to an ease.
After walking onto the track Lawrence urged the colt to come to a small trot to stretch out his resting muscles. The colt was pretty calm with his new rider and when he felt he could trust the human Gambler listened and switched up gears to a small trot until coming into a full gallop racing off as the sprinter he was. Lawrence could feel the colt moved smoothly and was well trained for this race.
Mason watched from afar and bit his bottom lip. "This isn't a race now Lawrence slow him down." He said then sitting down on the bench. Lawrence came to the end of the back stretch and urged Gambler to slow down seeing him do excellent work. The colt came to a trot moving his head to the side as he walked back to the out rail. He wanted more but, would save his energy for the race.
"Woah, I like this one Mason I was surprised you didn't assign me him. Give Chris a high five. He can run that's for sure." Lawrence said hopping off the back of the thoroughbred. Rubbing his neck Lawrence looked at Mason with a smile. "Yeah well he's a sprinter Lawrence not a distance runner I'm just afraid you might fall off." Mason said as a joke and grabbed the reins to Gamble's harness and walked him to the stables for the race to come. Gambler followed Mason with ease feeling this workout was soft but, accurate.
