SEA SIREN Ridden by Carlos Sanchez
August Maiden Dirt // August Workout
It had been maybe a few months since Sea Siren hit the tracks. The bay colt was young and still had some work to do. Carlos Sanchez was his jockey young and feisty riding on a small tempered thoroughbred. Walking the colt on the track Carlos was already on his back stretching out before patting the horse going for a short walk on the home stretch and the first turn. The colt was dual surfaced but, ran distances which was a tad difficult this season with the months mainly for sprinters so it seemed.
Sea Siren came from behind closed the pack and being sneaky he came through the middle of the pack towards the end to fight for the finish. Carlos then trotted the colt having him feel the dirt under his hooves to get him slowly back into the track again. Siren nickered shaking his muzzle in the air a bit he then came to a full on speedy run raising his tail in happiness for the track breeze to be in his face once again.
"Alright Ren let's go..." Carlos said then urging the colt faster and Siren pushed himself from the speed he was going to a higher slot and the colt went off like a jet taking off. Having a couple months break Carlos hoped that Sea Siren wouldn't be lazy out there on the track and at least try to push his hardest against some major racers. Carlos knew of the competition out there and was afraid that Sea Siren would not accomplish much but, they all had great faith in the small colt.
After having enough of the full on distance run Carlos pulled back on the reins and Ren slowed down showing his teeth while taking in deep breaths. Workouts did seem the same each time but, Carlos enjoyed being on the back of such an incredible animal. Horses were natural born runners thoroughbreds knew about speed, length, and the fun of it. The race was coming up and the jockey had his fingers crossed for his first assigned colt.
