Matt and IGNITE
workout for the BREEDERS CUPIt's a beautiful night
We're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby
I think I wanna marry you
The pair quietly made their way down the track. It was early morning, the sun was just starting to raise. It was a bit foggy this morning, but it wasn't so hot yet. So it was a prefect morning to go out and workout a bit.
They were getting ready for the Breeders Cup, the biggest race of the season. The last race too! It was going to be tough, but it was all worth it. They were going to give it their all and hope for a good result. After this race they planned on resting Ignite while the two year olds start and bring him back in March. But there were no defined plans yet.
The pair clicked well together, and Ignite was doing amazing as a two year old. Just hoped it would be like this the next few years. We hoped he would make his name well known on the track. Maybe go for HOF or something? Eh, that be shooting to big...
The duo eased into a canter as they started to breeze down the track. The black colt smoothly transitioned into a canter. He arched his neck, his ears perked forward. He was focused on the track, but he listened to Matt, his rider. The colt was a hulk of muscle, with speed. He loved to run. It was a challenge for him. He had to think with some race. Ash was quiet on the track, unlike when in the barn he liked to cause problems and get in trouble. He was a bit of a studly colt. He was ruly and hard to handle. He required a firm hand. He knew not to test Matt nor Candi, but the other hands he liked to play with. He would bolt and try to get away. Only with them though. Ash was shaping up to be a wonderful horse. He had won four races so far this season, and placed in many others.
Ready boy? Matt whispered. The colt's ears flickered back as he listened to his rider. Matt smiled, looking ahead at the truck. He urged the colt into a gallop, giving him a bit more of the reins. On cue the colt shot forward, like a bullet from a gun. He loved to run. Running was what he was bred for and nothing was going to take that from him. He was winning already, now it was time to start winning the big races.
The pair galloped 6 furlongs around the track before Matt slowed him down. Thatta boy! He said patting the colts neck. Matt cooled off the colt before talking him to the stables. Is it the look in your eyes
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares, baby
I think I wanna marry you
