Kaylin and Whispering Melody
Old owner, Kaylin of Twisted K Stables, was back and in the saddle. But this time she wasn't with her own stables. She rode under different colors and a different stable, but she was happy to be back in the saddle. She wasn't back fulltime though, just for a few horses here and there. Mainly for one horse though.
Kaylin had took time to rehabbing Whispering Melody, a filly out of Ebony Gold Lady's by Seattle Song. The filly was stolen when Kaylin was around, and it hit Kaylin hard. She blamed herself for it, and disappeared, leaving the stables to the hands. Most of her horses were sold off. But the filly was returned, and hearing the news Kaylin came to see for her self. After seeing the condition the filly was in, she stayed and nurse the filly back to health.
And today was the day. The filly had gone through training, and came out with flying colors. Now she will start running as a two year old. And Kaylin would be her rider.
Easy girl.. Kaylin said softly as the filly walked down the track .She held her head high, looking around. She wasn't scared of anything at the moment. She had been on a track like this, and knew it usually lead to her running. Wendy loved to run. She had the heart to run, just like her dam. Kaylin ran her hand through the fillys black mane and sighed. Okay girlie.. you ready for this? The filly's ear flickered back towards Kay like she was listening to when she was saying. Kaylin smiled.
Kaylin urged the filly forward into a trot, and lead her towards the rail. The filly was just beautiful. She was a perfect combo of her parents. Her only flaw was that she didn't trust anyone. And when she didn't trust you, she would hate you. You were either on her good side, or bad side. Kaylin was on her good side. She was a sweetheart when Kaylin was around. Now Josh on the other hand was on the filly bad side. Josh would swear the filly was out to get him. Everyone just laughed.
Kaylin urged the filly faster, into a canter. After a few furlongs Kaylin smiled as it was the time she has been waiting for a long time. She gave the filly a bit more rein and urged her into a gallop. The filly bolted forward in a gallop. Kaylin smiled, butterflies in her stomach. It was amazing, the filly was days away from her first race, and Kaylin would be riding her. It was a dream come true. The filly felt like a dream. Hopefully she would race like a dream too.
Kaylin galloped the filly about five furlongs before slowing her up and cooling her after. Whispering Melody... Maybe she could just whisper by everyone and claim a win? Who knew... Maybe she would be a good racehorse? Be Debar's first grade one?... Only one could hope..
