Y12 April Week 1 Workout[/center]
The day was young and King's Ransom was racing this week. Carlos was to work him to see how he would do. The colt had been lazy and so it was time to work him get him out onto the track to see if he would at least make it in the top of the leader board. King's Ransom was best Dirt Track and preceded other horses before advancing further. He had no problem entering the gate in fact he kicked the metal cage wanting to leave immediately. "Woah, relax there King calm down." The Jockey said pulling the reins tighter as the bell rang and the colt was off.
In mid track King was all over the place where he usually started in the middle of the pack the colt held his head straight forward while picking up speed during the 8th furlong. His pace was a bit more then usual. The colt whinnied while in mid run and shook his head a bit. Carlos held onto as he looked forward seeing the back stretch. "Come on King pick it up." He said loosening up the reins turning them so that King would turn with the track. The last turn came along and that's when Carlos gave a little kick and push and King's Ransom sped faster with no problem.
The horse gave it it's best as he expanded his stride pacing faster to get to the finish line. When passing the line Carlos checked his time and it was just barely there and he smiled pulling the horse to a stop. This was going to be his first race and Carlos would report his progress to the Handler Mason so he could mark it down in the books. This colt was ready for the race to come. Carlos sure was.
