Lost Child & Sam Morgan
August Maiden Turf Workout
Suddenly he stopped knowing he can't get away with it this time. Tacking the rest of the equipment, and placing the blinkers on him. I then mounted up and walked towards the soaked turf. Getting wet didn't bother the colt or the in fact he have to run on the wet and occasionally soggy turf. As longs he get to run, he was happy, very happy in fact. I allowed the colt to run for five minutes, so his muscles can run and to have some instructions from Sean. I didn't know he wanted him to have a breezing partner this time from the gate or not. Five minutes were up and I pulled the pulled back, seeing Sean called for a breezing horse to come on a track. The horse was a retired gelding which was there to boast the confidence of the other horse. Shetan spotted the chestnut stallion, and he was really fire up, as I had to settle him down, since he reared up.
I managed to stop him being a high strung as he was loaded in the gate. Neighing like he was teasing the other horse. Quick as the gate sprung open, so was the colt. He wanted the lead, but I remembered how to stop this and it helped. I allowed him to hang by the chestnut horse's right flank, keeping this position for five furlongs along. The turf was getting kicked in front of us, which was a pain and Shetan was getting more pumped up. Two furlongs more, I allowed him to reached to the colt's withers, as they were like edging each other up, the stride was more faster and comfortable. The backstretch was coming and I gave Shetan the signal and he took it, passing the breezing partner with ease, and the workout was over. I could tell from his speed, he could have carried on for longer. Slowly pulling him up I got him back to the walk, and off the track. I was hoping this would give him a better position this time, as to my eyes Shetan was really improving. [/font][/ul]
