Charismatic Outlet & Lady In Red
On the turf side of the track was Lady In Red with Kate upon her. The grey mare was rather large for a filly and a nimble one at that. She was a sweetheart off the track and a fire demon on. The mare was now waiting as her jockey, Kate, mounted up and then took the reins before urging her into a trot. Kate patted the filly's neck before asking for a trot. Lady In Red lacked a running mate at the moment as known of the horses seemed compatible to her expect for one and he was a dirt horse. Actually, Charismatic was waiting on the other track for Kate at the very moment, but she wasn't going to rush a workout. Smiling softly, Kate worked out Lady as she got use to the turf once more. A few encouraging words and the filly was all alert and ready to go. Ivory hooves danced upon the turf and then she began trotting toward the gate, breaking out onto a canter more than once. It only made Kate smile to see that she was so ready to go. As they entered the gate, the two year old filly began to dance a bit more. Lady did fine in the gates, but sometimes she just wasn't use to them. Kate said she was ready and suddenly the grey filly was bolting from the gates, putting distance between them. The filly went at a pace that would've been mid pack in a normal race. Kate loved riding Lady since she was so smooth and so graceful. Eight furlongs as the workout distance Kate was having her run. A short distance that seemed to be going past in a blur as they galloped. As they came around the home stretch, Kate showed her the whip and suddenly Lady was sprinting forward and digging deep, hooves spitting out turf behind them. They crossed the finish line in record time. Kate began to slowly pull her up, but had her canter to a waiting groom who took the filly and led her away. Kate was already on her way, ducking under the rail to go to Char, a beloved colt of hers.
A soft nicker greeted Kate as the prancing colt's orbs were settled onto her. A warming smile broke out onto her lips as she patted him, kissed his nose, and then mounted up onto him. Her slender hands touched his silky, short mane before the groom let go of the colt. Char suddenly broke out into a trot, however Kate had been ready for that. She knew this colt much to well to expect anything less of him. Chuckling, she urged him into a slow canter before the gate came into view. While Lady was a bit wary of the gate, Char entered it like he was a veteran. The metal, padded boxes seemed to bother him none. Kate pointed Char into the right gate, number four. It seemed the colt had a bit of trouble sometimes here and they had been working out it quite a bit. So, he was settled in and then Kate settled her own self before the gates shot open to reveal an emptied track. Char took off and Kate moved him slightly to the rail, though not too far in. The beautiful light chestnut colt had a fire to him that no one could dismiss. He was pushing forward, chest moving with each side along with most of the muscle in his body. Ten furlongs was what Kate had decided for the colt this morning and it seemed to fit him greatly. As they came around the turn, Char already seemed to know what he was doing and began picking up speed. However, Kate held him back as much as she could until she knew it was a good moment. Then she allowed the slack to lessen and Charismatic took off. She only had to show him the whip once and he was picking up speed. They crossed the finish line and Kate smiled. The colt had worked out great today. A lot better than he had been in recent weeks.
