GAMBLE ON PEACE
Ridden by
Carlos Sanchez

Gambler was one of the new horses on Bowen Acres Stables and he was a tough one at that. Which is why Carlos was assigned as his Jockey for good measures. Getting him from a Major Sell at Dreamvalley stables Nina the newly hired handler who was in college and Carlos decided to see what the colt could do. Walking him onto the track Gambler's ears were perked up and he walked to the gate with a calm manner. Carlos had watched a few workouts before this one with Nina. "This is what I live for." the jockey said looking at Nina, "Well that's why your a jockey riding on great horses born to race." Was the last conversation they had before starting the workout.
Carlos fixed his hat and put on his glasses petting Gambler's side as he took the ready position on the back on the of the colt. Gambler looked forward gently touching the metal bars in front of his muzzle. As the gate opened Gambler dashed off staying back like he usually does. The colt had potential he was a winner and Bowen Acres Stables hoped that this colt would do well with them as he did with his previous owners. Gliding down the track Gambler was a closer he started from the back of the pack and forced his way to the front with grasping for more.
Carlos gripped the reins tighter as the colt began to pick up more speed seeing two other horses on the same track ahead of him Gamble On Peace changed his gallop and feeling his jockey on his back gently grazed the whip on his hind Gambler came closer to the other horses. Nina watched from aside cheering him on waving. "Come on Gambler run!!" She yelled clapping her hands after. Gambler came in between the two other horses showing them he meant business. As a grade five 3 year old colt he would own this track without no mercy. Of course he was at a normal pace along the stretch and he stayed close to the horses that were also on the track.
Gambler was built for running though he only did 5-8 Furlongs he was training o run great distances. Coming upon the last furlong Gambler whinnied and took off leaving the others behind in dust the colt left behind. Of course, he was now ahead with only a few lengths the colt finished and Carlos was well impressed with the colt's stamina. Coming to a halt Nina came to the colt and grabbed the reins under his chin and rubbed his nose lightly. "Great run." She said then looking up at Carlos pulling the colt back into the stables to get him washed down and cleaned up.
