[/center]AKUMABUELLE RIDDEN BY AIDEN SMITH
- - x - x - -
With all this news of the next greatest filly and what not, Akumabuelle was getting left in the dust due to her one start. She had placed second in front of Ventura and she could do it plenty of more times, yet she hadn't been entered in a race since. Hailey had decided it was time to get Ella out of the dust and into the limelight. Fillies like Nightshade, Ventura, and Italian Ice were soaking it up, while Hailey had a filly that was just as good, if not better than all of them. It was time to show them all what was in store and who they would have to reckon with in the next few years. Akumabuelle, daughter of Akuma Battlecry and Duebelle; related to horses like Admiral's Revenge, the legendary triple crown winner. Yes, she was definitely one to be reckoned with.
Aiden, fully healed and ready to ride, saddled the filly quickly. Hailey had decided not to enter any horses in any races for awhile due to the farm's financial issues. Now, it was time to make a big comeback; a huge one. This comeback would include the healed, Aiden Smith. He was ready to go and ride his heart out. His rib had healed quickly and the doctor had said that he could ride in races. Aiden's disappearance had left a big impact on the stable, being their best rider. Akumabuelle had placed second in front of Ventura with Becky riding her; imagine what would happen if Aiden stepped in to jockey the two year old.
Once they were out on the track, Hailey ran Aiden through what she wanted them to do. "I want a quick work of six furlongs on the dirt, okay?" Aiden nodded, "Out of the gate or..." He replied. "Oh, um.. Take her out of the gate. She hasn't had a gate work in a while." Aiden nodded and clucked to the filly. She broke into a trot eagerly, her legs high stepping with spunk and speed. Aiden hadn't ever ridden this horse before but he had always looked forward to it when she was a yearling. Now, he had his chance but it felt weird riding the horse in it's second race without riding her in it's first. Becky had ridden her. He felt guilt. Why couldn't she have just kept Ella as a regular ride? It made his stomach ache for some reason. Becky had gotten a chance and he believed she preformed beautifully, but he could have been a bit biased, considering...
It did feel good though; the feeling of a horse's sides heaving in between his legs and the wind running through his hair as they increased speed. Eager to gallop the filly, he kicked her sides. Ella took that as the green light and took off down the stretch, immediately stretching out with her head low and legs flying. Aiden let out a loud laugh before asking her to slow. She obeyed and started prancing with her head collected towards the starting gate. Akumabuelle loaded into the gate easily and waited. As the silence wore on, Ella started prancing in place, ready to break. Aiden nodded to the starter and the bell rang in their ears.
Ella flew down the stretch in a blur. Aiden reined her to the inside of the track. She charged down the stretch, ears and head perked high in the air, tail flowing gracefully behind, and legs hitting the ground in a rapid rhythm. She was so eager and willing to run, after not being raced in a long time. They traveled down the stretch at blazing speeds and rounded the turn in the same fashion. Aiden found that she was so ready and willing to do anything her rider asked of her. She was also devoted to running which was obvious if you rode her even once.
Just when Aiden thought she had given her all, they were speeding down the homestretch and Aiden kissed to her a final time, that she changed gears and gave a magnificent stretch burst. It was something that if there had been a horse hanging on in front of her, she would have sped past them and shattered their time. She had heart and Aiden knew it. He couldn't wait to ride her into the race.
