Y12 April Week 1 Workout[/center]
Time was at need and Sea Siren needed a workout. Chris had him on the track getting ready for the bell to signal. "Come on Siren let's kick this tracks behind." He said getting ready to go. The bell had rang and the colt dashed off without warning. He was great on both Dirt and Turf tracks so he was ready either way. Chris remembered first being assigned to the colt he was a bit rowdy at first but, Chris was able to teach him a thing or two about manners. The first furlong was nice and easy Sea Siren always started from the back which made it sometimes difficult.
Coming along the back stretch the colt picked up speed Chris showing him the brush and the colt moved faster as if he was running for his life. Siren's ears were perked backwards but he was proud. Chris enjoyed the ride but, he knew he had to pick up the pace. After coming to the finish Chris slowed the horse to stop and had not gotten off the colt just yet. "Having a bad day are we?" Chris said petting the colt on the neck. That run could have gone way better.
Chris then got off the back and took the reins to walk him over to the stable to wash him off. Taking off the saddle the jockey turned on the water hose and washed him down to cool him off a bit. The big race was coming and the colt had to be ready. The colt whinnied and Chris fed him some oats. "We can win this buddy that or at least enjoy the ride." He said brushing him after he was well cleaned. Chris then loaded the colt up to head back to the stables and be ready for another day.
