GS SUPER CHARGED Ridden by Chris Stevens
(Burning Blaze Stakes workout)
[/size]The day was young and Chris managed to leave Bowen Acres and bring Ben along for his workout for the Burning Blaze Stakes. Chris bonded with Ben ever since Angela brought the colt home and Chris managed to get on his good side. It was like Chris was Super Charged best friend. The colt was Sired by Admiral's Revenge a triple crown winner so Chris felt he had to bring this colt to victory. Placing the saddle on the bay colt he then rubbed Ben's neck to show him that he was calm.
"A morning workout sound good there Ben?" Chris said then got on Super Charged back and the thoroughbred raised his head and pounded his front right leg rapidly on the ground while he grunted. Chris urged the colt to move forward and he did just that. When the colt entered the track he started to trot raising his tail as an excitement to being on the track. The colt started immediately head off onto the track as fast as he could but, he started from behind and would halter his true speed and stamina til the end of the run.
The colt turned and started by the rail nice and easy his began to pound harder onto the ground expanding each stride of his steps as he then reached the back stretch with no problem. "Easy now Ben." Chris said while on the horse's back his head lowered right near the bottom of the back of Ben's neck as he also looked forward to see where they were going. Ben's only reaction was to snort raising his head while in mid run as he moved away from the rail Ben then decided to change gears coming from a bloodline of pure speed and stamina as his Grand-Sire War Admiral had the colt gained speed barely lifting his feet off the ground to gain more speed.
The colt then gained stamina to pull himself forward towards the front of the pack with no problem. The colt did all he could to come to the front as he reached the wire after all that burst of speed that came late as usual. Chris slowed the colt down who then reared up lightly after the last halt. "WOAH! Easy Ben its alright." The jockey said assuring the bay horse with a gentle pat on the neck. GS Super Charged was in his moods again but, with the trust of his jockey Ben just pounded at the ground wanted to get out of this track and anger his way out in the paddock while he usually bucked and ran all crazy in freedom.
Chris got off the moody thoroughbred and took the reins as he faced the racehorse grabbing his halter lightly. "Come on now Ben save it for the race huh? Show them what your made of." He said then rubbing his muzzle trying to get him to calm down. When he did calm down Chris walked him off the track and took off his saddle and tide the reins to a pole and began to brush the colt down. The colt was only a 2 year old but, he had potential which Chris would hop that he lived up to his sire's name.
