GAMBLE ON PEACE Ridden by Chris Stevens
STARSHINE SPRINT Workout[/center]
Gambler hadn't raced in over a month he was resting after having such a great race in the month before picking up his career greatly. Chris finally thought it was time to bring the future champ back onto the tracks and get him used to the dirt track again. Gambler was well behaved today and he was already all fired up ready to start the day. While already on the track Chris hopped up adjusting himself onto the saddle and placing the reins in his hands.
Guiding the colt to the gate, he waited for a split second to be off. "Alright Gamble, I hope your ready bud, we are going to run this track down." Chris said placing his goggles on over his face to protect his eyes. The colt was then off running away from the gate running at a high tense speed. Gambler was a sprinter who ran 5-8 Furlongs on Dirt turf Chris would try to make sure the other racers would remember who they were up against.
Gamble on Peace won about three races so far and had done pretty well in his career and hoped he would do more. Who knew Gambler could become the next hall of famer or even horse of the month but, only time would tell they may still have a lot of work to do but, he would still be great to Bowen Acres.
Coming along the back stretch Gambler remained to hold off he liked staying behind the pack until the last known minute. When coming to the last turn the chestnut colt grabbed another gear and picked up speed giving it all he could. He then came along the final stretch and picked up more speed. Gambler ran smoothly and he was healthy and ready to take on anyone no matter if he won or lost.
Passing the finish line the colt was sweating and taking some deep breaths but, that was normal Chris patted him and walked him off the track so others could train without any problems. "Good boy. You are ready aren't you?" He said only knowing the horse could not answer back so he took it as a yes. Now it was time to be prepared for the Starshine Sprint in these next couple of weeks. They would be ready.
