PASSION HEART Ridden by Terri Lane
AZALEA CUP FILLIES workout
Terri had entered into the Azalea Cup Fillies and she would ride Passion Heart in it. She felt the filly was ready for this big move and would rest her next month and would help Passion's brother Ruler's Secret in the mean time. Brushing the Maiden Filly she felt her underneath her palm all soft and a little warm. Terri could only smile. The filly loved to run and when she wasn't running she was throwing a hissy fit because of it.
Passion Heart ran ahead of the pack being great on Turf tracks and running 7-10 Furlongs. She came in 3rd place at the lochness maiden at the wire back in March and Terri only hoped she could keep her on the top. Hopping onto her back Passion whinnied and headed to the track ready to take flight. The filly rose her head entering the gate ready to take off and that is exactly what the filly did and she was heading down the first turn heading straight into the lead.
She ran at a normal gallop Terri almost standing on the horse but lowered down so that way she wouldn't put all her wait on the filly and made it easier for her. Coming along the turn Passion extended her stride gaining more speed to come up on the back stretch but, not too much speed. Terri held her back along the back stretch having her run at a smooth pace keeping it easy and Terri could tell Passion Heart did not like it at all.
Coming to the turn is when Terri set the horse loose and encouraged the thoroughbred to now run at top speed and Passy sure did do that. Picking up all gears to the last stretch Passion was now running at full speed until crossing the finish line. That was definitely a good run for the filly not tripping over her feet was a miracle and would have to see how she'd do on this race. It was a big race only time would tell.
