The morning air was silent with a small breeze to the wind. Meredith had just woke up to her early alarm to make breakfast and get ready to start the day. Being a jockey was not an easy task as they put their lives in danger every time they sat on the back of some beautiful animals. Drinking the rest of her coffee, she went upstairs to brush her teeth. She took a deep breath after placing on her slim jeans and boots along with a top. She had gotten word that one of the filly's that she was riding was entered into the Unicorn Horn series and she wanted to start her job early.
Walking over to the barn Meredith grabbed the lead rope out of the side shed and headed to Remi's stall. Looking through the opening she could see her already fired up with her rearing and neighing. Grabbing some oats she extended her hand towards the thoroughbred before rubbing her muzzle softly. "How's my gorgeous girl today huh?" She said placing the lead rope onto her halter, opening the stall door and walking Remi out with a normal pace. She was going to run in the Unicorn Horn Dirt Sprint against the most fiercest horses of this grade. Taking place in Gate one was Stride of Perfections, Forbidden to Fly a son of Flying Colours out of Forbidden Wings. He would be the only colt running in this race as the rest of the entrants were all females.
Next on the list of entrants was Witch Creek's Feline Frenzy the favored one it seemed on the track. Her lineage unknown however she truly made a remarkable scene with every race. Reflected in Water was in gate three, a new three year old to this race and already a G4 level. Remi is sired by G1 Radiance out of Cry out Chaos and the first foal on ground to them both. In the fourth gate entrant was highly known Crowned Queen, Remi had faced her before and would taunt the very sight of her as if she wanted to say I will take you down next time. She too was sired by Flying Colours out of Crowned Cookie. This filly certainly had a knack to want more. In the last gate held in Sugar Rush sired by Sweet Sugar Cane out of Rush Hour. Sugar Rush was the front runner of the pack which meant Remi would come in like a shark after her.
Hopping onto the bay's well saddled back and got comfortable. The filly's dam had won the Unicorn Horn Series and it seemed best to see if the daughter could fulfill in her shoes. Remi pounded the grounded softly moving forward with the leaded path. Remi moved her body sideways while approaching the dirt tracks of Green horse fields. Ears moved to face forward she was given the right away and galloped off away from the belling starting gate. The bay filly was inspiring to watch as the first daughter to Radiance she showed much promise on the tracks. She would be watching out for the colt as well as Crowned Queen, as the mare had beaten Remi before she wanted to come up on her as a surprise.
Pushing farther off the dirt ground Remi kept her range closer to the rails until the farther end of the back stretch where she ran out towards the outside to get more speed. The fillies ears were up as she ran like the wind. Remi loved to run and while she was following in the hoof-prints of her dam she would certainly put up a fight this week. Meredith let Remi did what she did best and as they came along the last turn she could feel Reflected in Water go at an even faster pace to meet her mark. She was now a 3 year old and showed much maturity as she grew and a bit more serious.
Pulling through to the wire Meredith slowed the filly down only to have Remi neigh and prance to a fine stop. The filly bobbed her head and snorted through her nostrils as she was praised with her good hard work. "Great run today Remi I'm so proud of you." Meredith said patting the filly's neck. It was only almost about the same time today when Nature Blue's acquired this filly and now she was a known horse on Green Horse Fields. Becoming a Grade 4 only in her juvenile career was impressive for the girl.
Taking her off the tracks she headed straight to get the muddy filly all cleaned up. She tired Remi's lead rope to the pole and grabbed the bucket full of soapy water. Taking off her saddle Remi moved her head to snatch at it and felt the release of the heated saddle on her bath and moved her head up and down. Meredith had enjoyed washing her it was fun when Remi wanted to dance off the water. "Hey cut that out silly." She said as the filly began to relax a bit. After her cleaning Meredith took her back to the stables so she could then rest for the important race known as the Unicorn Horn Series.
