March Maiden Dirt
1 - Furious Flyer (two lengths)
2 - Honorary (nose)
3 - Beyond The Stars (head)
4 - Lime Light
This race favored speed. Furious Flyer had things all his way, and controlled this field wire-to-wire. He was unchallenged, setting his own pace, and he had a lot left in the tank for his final kick. Honorary had a slight edge over the closers, who didn't get the sort of speed up front they needed to perform to their best. Beyond The Stars had the edge of experience over Lime Light and knew better when to make her move.
Side note: Honorary's year of birth would be Y12, not Y10, as a two-year-old.
March Dirt Stakes
1 - Aquatic Addiction (two and a half)
2 - Speed Rush (head)
3 - Attractive Flight
Aquatic Addiction has been sitting right on that cusp of G1, and this race was the one he needed to make that leap. Speed Rush led most of the race, but had an unfortunate bad step down the stretch, putting him off his stride and therefore making way for the charging Aquatic Addiction. He got his feet under him when Attractive Flight passed him up, and rallied hard to get his head back in front of his stable mate.
PRINCESS CUP
1 - In The Spotlight (neck)
2 - Prima Donna (one length)
3 - Mardi Gras (nose)
4 - Lost In Memories
Mardi Gras and Lost in Memories would both benefit from running a race or two in lower-caliber races to build up their resumes a bit before hitting the series preps again.
Also Lucy, you should somehow differentiate the HOTY races from regular races in your race records, as the judge doesn't always know the names of every big race. And caliber of race can make a difference. So just a helpful suggestion.
