Lusitania ("Luci") was an amazing and adorable mare that loves to race. No matter what her age was or who her rider she outshone the competition. She had an amazing reputation on the track and a great racing attitude. Racing will alway be in her heart.
Luci was bred by Meadow Creek Farm and Green Horse Stables. Her and her twin sister, Euphoria, was born at Green Horse Stables and then split up. Luci was raised at Meadow Creek Farm while Euphoria stayed at Green Horse Stables. Eventually, Meadow Creek Farm had to sell off their entire stock because of a personal issue. Kirsten had been eying this filly for a long time and when she found out that Meadow Creek Farm was going under she jumped at the chance of owning the amazing filly. However, Sarah from Green Horse Stables also wanted to get the filly back in her stable. They agreed upon half ownership of the filly. Kirsten took Luci home to Akita Rose Stables to start off and started conditioning her to race.
Soon Melanie was assigned as her number one rider. It was a great partnership. With over 20 million dollars in earnings and a record of 50 19-10-9 it proves just how great this mare actually is. That's a 76% Win/Place/Show average.

Major Places = Y6 Breeder's Cup Distaff, Y7 True Enough Memorial Stakes, Y8 Summer Cup, Y8 Independance Cup, Y8 Sweet Stalker Memorial Stakes and the Y8 Winter Cup.
Major Shows = Y7 Independance Cup and the Y7 Breeder's Cup Distaff.
She won some awards on GHF during his racing career that we are very proud of. They are Y7 Encouragement Award and won Y8 Best Dirt Horse.
She was a champion on the track and we think she'll be a champion in the breeding shed as well. That is why she also got awarded Y8 Mare to Watch. She foaled her first foal in Y9 named Lusitania's Soldier (sired by Akuma Battlecry).
With GHF Hall of Famers as parents and siblings why not include her as well?
I mean, sired by True Enough, out of Bank On Silver?! All horses with those bloodlines should be in. Anyone who votes no are taking the mick. Because this filly is FANTASTIC.
