DECEMBER 2015 MEMBER INTERVIEW WITH LACEKAY
1. How did you find GHF/TW, and when did you join?
I found GHF when it first started up 10 years ago. I remember being extremely bored with Horseland (I was twelve at the time) and started to google horse racing games and Green Horse Fields popped up at the top. I originally was interested in the horse showing part of the game when it was still around and then got into the racing part when True Enough started to win. I joined right after it opened up and was known as Laylay for the first couple years, and then switched to LaceeKay after a while. I played with Snowy and Sunfrost (Aemin if I remember right) and other well-known long time players such as Kristen Jade and Dante. I quit right around the time high school started because of sports and other commitments, but six years later I had a random thought to look up the site again and here it still was!
2. How did you get your username, is there any specific meaning attached to it?
Laylay was my childhood nickname and it goes off of my real name, Lacee. I decided to change to LaceeKay (my first and middle name) afterwords because that was what a lot of people called me in middle school at the time and still do as I'm going through college.
3. What is your favorite thing about GHF/TW?
Mine has to be how open and friendly everyone is. I mean, racing and breeding racehorses is definitely fun, but without everyone who contributes to the sites it wouldn't be the same.
4. Describe yourself, how tall are you? What color are your eyes and hair? What is your clothing style? What month and day is your birthday? What is your astrological sign? Chinese animal?
I'm 5'9" (taller than I'd like) with bright blue eyes and honey brown hair, though it likes to inch closer to blonde during the summer when I'm outside more often. My clothes have three very distinctive trends depending on what I'm doing. If I'm working, which is 4 days of the week, it's black dress pants with a navy blue top. When I'm going to school I get a little bit more creative with what I'm wearing. Almost every time I decide to wear jeans and black tennis shoes (even during the summer cause I tend to be out with the horses all day). I usually grab a cute tank top (summer) and if it is chilly enough I'll throw on a cardigan or zip up hoodie. Now that it's getting cold enough I'll wear my gray plaid pea coat and knee high boots. I'm Though I will switch it up whenever we go out bar hopping with friends and throw in a skirt. The third is strictly if I'm being lazy around the house and/or working on homework after work. That's when I practically live in my CU sweatpants and a sweater. My birthday is on August 26th and that puts me barely in the range of Virgo. I believe my Chinese animal is a Rooster.
5. Do you have a mantra/saying/adage?
Throughout the years I have rotated through sayings whenever they become popular, but I try not to overuse any of them purely because I'll irritate the hell out of myself. The one I have been saying lately is "what the hell". And this is mostly linked with crazy walmart stories that I hear about on a daily basis.
6. What are your favorite activities?
Horseback riding, definitely. And within that subject it has to be show jumping. Then reading and drawing are next.
7. Who is your favorite famous horse trainer?
I seem to be the only member on here that does not actively follow horse racing and more the eventing world. In that case my favorite trainer has to be George Morris. We've had a few clinics of his at our barn and he can be really tough to train with but he is so full of knowledge I could listen to him for hours.
8. Do you collect anything?
I used to collect Horse of a Different color statues when I was younger, and have about 5 of them. I also love to collect rocks whenever I find really interesting ones. My boyfriend has to drag me out of rock shops whenever we wander around in the mountains during the summer.
9. Do you have a job? Are in you in school?
I currently work as a Dept. Manager at Walmart, though I stepped down a week ago to go work in the automotive shop so I can focus more on school. I'm currently working on my first bachelor's degree that is in Archaeology, which I will have finished by next fall
then after that I will be switching campuses and going for my second bachelor's degree which will be in Geology (go figure). I'm still debating if I will be returning to get my master's in Archaeology, but that will be further down the road.
10. Do you have pets?
IF you're counting my boyfriend's as well, which I have kind of adopted as my own, I have 7 cats and 1 dog. My 3 cats at my parents' house include two short hair domestics (Kenai and Koda) and a pixiebob (Lynx). They usually are being chased by my border collie (Chip). At my boyfriend's house he has 4 cats (Clark, Meredith, Gladys, and Batman). I do not own any horses but I do ride my trainer's percheron, Jazz, for her when I have some down time.
11. What kind of car do you drive?
Don't even get me started on cars (has slight addiction to muscle cars). 2 of the 3 cars I have owned have been Ford Mustangs. I'm currently driving a 2007 Ford Mustang convertible.

13. What are your strengths?
I'm very hardworking and take pride in my work. I also do well when left on my own to accomplish a task. I'm always very confident with what I do and make sure I get my facts right before assuming anything.
14. What are your weaknesses?
On the flip side I do not do well when people tell me I didn't do something right, it's part of a pride thing. I put too much confidence and trust in people I don't know very well and it has gotten me burned in the past. I always think the better of humankind and I am coming to find out that I should be thinking the worst.
15. How are you odd?
Uhhhh probably because I know more about cars and tools than most men do, and to them this is a shocker because I can be super girly as well.
16. What is your most embarrassing moment?
Had to be when my boyfriend and I went on our first vacation together in the mountains and we had gotten into a wrestling match because he stole my phone. In the middle of it a room service guy walked in and my hair was going crazy and the bed was torn apart. He backed out really fast cause he thought we were doing 'other things'.
17. What is your most triumphant moment?
Probably the time when I out-drank my friend's boyfriend. He's about 6'5", and bragged about drinking the whole time he was away at college.
18. What is your worst memory?
My sophomore year in high school when my grandmother died the same week I had a huge horse show in Estes Park. I remember being so upset because I hate going to funerals and my parents made me go anyway.
19. What is your best memory?
Going out on the jet skit on the lake during the Fourth of July and attempting to throw my boyfriend off in the water. In the end we both ended up in the water because I rolled it.
20. What do you fear?
Not being able to accomplish all the things I want to do in life. IE. travel to Europe, buy my own horse, get my two degrees finished. Oh, and I'm terrified of snakes.
21. What do you dream?
In literal sense? About a lot of random crap. Usually it relates to something I saw earlier in the day or had been thinking about.

23. Do you have any secrets?
I have quite a few.
24. Do you hide anything about yourself?
I do have to back off on how much I reveal of my emotions. I tend to be very emotional and will blow up on people if enough things get on my mind. So in the worst possible way, I bottle up everything and hold it in.
25. Do people misunderstand you in any way?
I think that people in general don't understand how much I go through on a daily basis. If it isn't stress from work and being exhausted from working freight, school and strain from commuting from my parent's house to my boyfriend's house on a daily basis will put me in a mood that people think I'm overreacting about.
26. Explain why you are the way you are.
There's lots of reasons why I am the way I am. Every choice I've made in my life has had an outcome and has a result it has made me who I am. There's a lot of things I have done that I am not proud of and wish I could go back and change. But at the same time I'm really happy where I'm at and who I'm with, so I can't complain that much.
27. If you have three genie wishes, what would you wish for and why?
To have unlimited money, to have whatever job I wanted, and to travel where ever I wanted to at any given time.
