did i see a puddy tat? i did i did!Man it felt good being back on the track where races were run week after week. The track where many horses were made into legends. The track where there was a great family atmosphere along with an edge of competitiveness. The track that felt like home.
Melanie was smiling from ear to ear (which was very uncommon for the head strung redhead). It just felt so good to be back on the GHF track. And races were going to run in full swing to end off the season that never got to be finished due to the accident that fell upon the GHF track. It had been a tragedy but now it was open for business again.
Her mount was feeling the excitement in the air as well. Jazzman, our oldest stallion at 4 years old that was still racing. This season might be his last so Akita Rose Stables was determined to let him shine. Melanie stroked the excited stallion's neck and felt him shiver beneath her. He knew that a race was coming up whenever he was on this track and he was definitely excited. It has been a long time for him.
Melanie looked around the track and was surprised to see only a few riders. The track was normally bustling with activity. Mind you, it was the opening day after all and not all the farms where close by, and they would all have to transport their horses this morning so they could very well be running behind schedule.
Ah well... Melanie steered her mount towards the turf track to work Jazzman. He had a few turf races coming up so Kirsten's orders had been to work him on the turf. She wasn't too specific on what they were going to do yet so Melanie looked around for any competition that might arise.
The competitive feeling was running wild in her veins. It was something about the track... possibly. That would be her excuse anyways. She was just as itching to race as the stallion beneath her felt.
She urged Jazz into and trot and he surged forward energetically. He was raring to go.
