Born to Soar and Sarah Star
Lawliet's Girl and Marissa Star
Marissa was finally getting what she wanted. Just for the Spring Cup anyway. Lawliet's Girl was surprised to have someone different riding her, but she didn't act any different. Because the G3, 2 and 1 races in the Spring Cup didn't get sufficient entries, they had been combined. It meant that Born to Soar and Lawliet's Girl were now up against each other, and Sarah was the regular rider of both of them.
Ahhh, she's alot like Flyer. Marissa sighed contentedly, riding Lolly's comfortable canter with a big smile on her face. Sarah glanced at her, frowning slightly. It's only just this once that you get to ride her. Only because her and Sophia ended up in the same race. She replied, enjoying Born to Soar's delightful canter herself.
They were both entered in the Spring Cup G3,2,1 Turf. It was a field of pretty decent horses, but they were mostly worried about Wildly Natural. As she was by The Natural, Sarah absolutely loved her. Born to Soar, also by The Natural, was half sister to Tura and equally as talented, except she liked the dirt as well. I know. Just enjoying it. Marissa responded.
Just an easy four furlong gallop today. Don't want to do anything too much that will tire them out. Sarah instructed, cueing Sophia to gallop. The chestnut filly gracefully switched to gallop, and Marissa and Lolly followed suit. So, are you worried about the race? Marissa questioned. Sarah thought for a moment. Maybe a little bit. Sophia's the youngest in the field, and we're up against Wildly Natural.
Marissa nodded thoughtfully, then grinned suddenly. Wow, first time up against her half sister! She exclaimed. This is going to be interesting! Sarah nodded, smiling, and they finished their gallop in silence - Born to Soar's natural competitiveness shining through in the last few metres, when she made sure her nose was ahead of Lolly's. They were ready for the Spring Cup.
