BLUE GRASS STAKES WORKOUT
There's this saying that goes "The grass is always greener on the other side." Sarah guessed that it was kind of the same as always wanting what you can't have. A lucky few had the greener grass, and she counted herself as one of them. Moments like this, when she was aboard an amazing galloping racehorse, with a diamond ring on her finger, and a smile on her face. She had everything she wanted, and couldn't ask for more.
Born To Soar galloped gracefully, eating up the dirt with powerful strides. Next to them, on the rail, Furious Passion aggressively fought for the lead, his eyes glaring. Sarah looked at Marissa, saw she was allowing Passion to run the way he wanted. Sometimes it was best not to fight; horses were strong, and they could always beat us when it came down to strength. On the other side of them, Blaze and Mr Hat and Clogs raced along, making it look so easy.
They rounded the turn, causing Kisuke to lose some ground. Furious Passion gained a slight lead. Sarah cued Born To Soar, just as Kisuke came roaring up beside them. Marissa cued Passion at roughly the same time, and the colt pulled ahead, maintaining his lead by a half length. It wasn't over yet! Sophia dug in, her heart set on beating the boys.
They flashed by the wire; it wasn't clear who won. Rematch in the Blue Grass! Blaze called, slowing Kisuke to canter. Oh yeah! Marissa and Sarah shouted back in unison.
