Lexi watched as Aden saddled the enormous black colt. Thunder stood there peacefully, looking half asleep. He flicked his ebony tail once or twice but that was all. Aden rubbed his hand against Thunder's white star and then tugged on the reins, signaling him to walk forward. Lexi's eyes moved with Thunder's movement. She was proud to have gotten this colt.

Thunder perked his head up, suddenly awaking, as Aden jumped up and mounted him. Aden asked him to walk forth over towards where Lexi was standing. Aden asked, "So how far do you want him to go?"

Lexi responded, "Just a quarter mile," she smiled at him. Thunder and Aden went on there way at a trot. They entered onto the track, just a few feet away. Thunder trotted up and down the stretch for a minute and then Aden let him go into a slow canter. Thunder's head bounced up and down and his body followed the motion. Aden then asked him to take off. As they started to come to the end of the furlong, Aden asked Thunder to give him his fastest pace. Thunder responded with a great surge forth, his head held high, and his long legs quickened. They passed under the wire and Thunder came to a slow canter. Aden pulled his head to the side and then cut off at a trot. They stopped in front of Lexi.

"How'd he feel?" Lexi asked, patting his neck and taking the reins. Aden replied, nodding his head, "He felt amazing! That was great." he rubbed Thunder's neck too and hopped off. Lexi grinned, "You guys looked amazing."
