Illegal Motivation was ready to break off into a canter. He was prancing and dancing his way along side Lexi. He wore a glowing red racing saddle and a red and a brown racing bridle. Legal threw his head up and down. He was excited to run. He hadn't run for this person yet, but he wanted to show her that he was boss. He wanted control and he was to get it. They both stepped onto the dirt surface. Lexi stroked Legal's neck with a flat hand. She was trying to calm him down so that he would not loose all of his energy. His skin was damp, with a thin layer of sweat. Legal was hyped up and she knew it.Lexi whispered to him, "Shhh.. We are just going to go nice and easy." Legal snorted and pawed at the ground. Lexi grabbed the reins and jumped on, quickly. Legal almost immediately took off down the stretch, but Lexi held him back. He pranced with his head held high and his ears laid against his skull. Lexi released a bit of pressure and Legal suddenly jolted forward into a high paced, gallop. His head rocked back and forth and his legs hit the dirt with force, quick. He was just a big brown blob that blurred across eye vision. Lexi tried to hold him back with all her might. Legal would not stop though he tried to rip the reins from her hands a few times, but Lexi was strong. Lexi pulled and pulled. Legal was going slower than he could, but still very fast. He hadn't gone his fastest yet. Lexi wouldn't let him.
Once they crossed the wire, Lexi finally stood up in the irons and used all of her weight to pull back. Legal slowed to a walk. Now, he was sweatier. Lexi had to ride him in races if she wanted him to stop at all. She figured he would be even more competitive in races. She slid off of him once he finally came to a complete stop. She felt like jello. She was exhausted. Illegal Motivation was restless. He kept switching which feet he put his weight on and pawing at the ground. Lexi stroked him and caressed him. "Shh.. Calm Down." Legal had finally relaxed and seemed as if he was just standing in his stall, like nothing happened. Lexi grinned and replied, "Good Boy."
