June Maiden Dirt Workout
We have been waiting for another horse to come on the track, and finally a handsome grey stallion came onto the track. He was a retired racehorse, and comes for a breezing partner for other horses to boast confidence to younger racehorses. Tegan nickered and even let out a playful rear as she saw the competition. Slowly the a man loaded us into the gate, and Tegan settled down this time. As the gates open, she immediately broke. The breezing stallion was really fast, and I settled Tegan into position, just by his flank.
The dirt was kicked aggressively out of the way, as her stride was lot more settled. The distance was just right, as she wasn't struggling some for the speed. As the second furlong was just about to come our way, I urged her to go for it now. As she felt the reins slacken in her mouth, I felt her speed increasing and she easily without any problem, flew past the other horse, taking the lead. As the race finished I pulled her up and looked and pulled her into a canter, and then trot. I knew this she was ready, and she broke excellent this time from the gate, which I was glad about.[/font][/ul]
