Prideful Limits & Alexia Harshing
The time had come. Alexia was finally ready to put Perry against another horse. The colt had been improving greatly and while he was still a bugger to handle she was sure that on the track he could take on anything. Butshe didn't want to throw the two-year old into the deep end, she wanted to put him against someone on his own level. That was where Forbidden Enchantment came in. The filly was about to take her own debut and it was time that they ensured she was as ready as they thought she was. So they decided to pitch the two against each other. Perry had the advantage, he'd been raced during his prospect year and done well whereas Tia hadn't been raced at all. Still, it was a while since Perry raced so Alexia felt sure the colt didn't have too huge an advantage. Of course, Tia did have one thing over Perry, she was a filly and he seemed to have huge testosterone levels. Perhaps he would find this distracting, but Perry certainly hoped not.
As they reached the track both of the thoroughbreds boxed well. An eagerness eminated from Perry, an excitement from Tia as they waited patiently. They knew that soon the gates would open and, from there, the race would begin. Shifting slightly, the great colt that was Perry felt agitated. It had been a long time since he had raced and he was eager to prove himself. Next door, filly Ti waited with anticipation, ready to do what she had been born to do. As soon as the doors opened both flew out at great speed.
It was always going to be a fun competition. Both of them were front runners, both of them hated to e behind another. To start with, Perry's superior size and longer stride helped him to edge ahead but soon Tia's determination to be in front carried her ahead of him. The colt snorted unhappily but placed himself less than a stride behind her. Just enough for her to know he was there and want to keep pushing. It worked, despite his atempts Jacob found the filly would not slow down and as they rounded the final corner it was clear that Tia was quickly running out of steam. Perry steamed ahead and won the race by two lengths, taking advantage of what had occured.
