Whip Up The Dancing & Lumiera
The smaller figured filly strutted out on the track next to a bit bigger stallion. The three and four year old were comfortable with each other and that was seen as they moved as one. Lumiera trotted and Prancer was right next to her, matching the pace. While Prancer was more of a turf horse, Lumiera could run on both and that always amazed her jockey, Kate Wagner. While she sometimes rode Prancer, today she had chose the filly to ride upon and allow Josh, the newer jockey, to ride Prancer who tended to be a smoother ride. They continued around the track for at a trot for a few more paces before shifting into a canter. The turf felt good under their hooves and already Kate was loosing her self in the beat that they made. The cool October breeze ruffled the horses mane and messed with Kate's ponytail as well. Smiling, she motioned to Josh to go to the gate and they cut closer to the rail were a five gate starter awaited the horses. Easily, the horses went in and the gates were set. The jocks quickly prepared themselves before getting ready. Then the gates flew open and the horses bolted out the gate. Being more of a front runner, Lumiera took the early lead in the breeze and continued on the rail, however Kate made sure that she gave her the easiest track possible. 13 furlongs was going by fast as they came up to the seventh furlong and continued. While the pace was a bit fast, Kate felt that had a lot more horse under her than the other workout. Coming to the ninth furlong, Kate and Josh began to thunder down the stretch. Suddenly, both the horses were asked for all that they had and were thundering down the track. Lumiera was hanging on while it seemed Prancer just couldn't catch the second wind that kept the filly going. It was Lumiera were drew across the line first and Kate smirked as she patted the mare's mane. Another great workout.
