Kodak Moment & Tanya Stratt
Tanya had been asked to join the staff of the growing Silver Stride Stables, which happened to be where her sister had found herself employed. It hadn't taken even a moment for her to reach a decision on the matter - if it were good enough for her sister it was good enough for her and it had been a while since she'd had anything to do with her older sibling. As such, she had arrived, and her first ride had been secured. Kodak Moment had been a late entry into the Kaniska Stakes and as her regular jockey, Alexia, was riding another horse Tanya had been asked to take over for the race. As such, the excitable young jockey had found herself with a workout to do.
When she had first set her gaze upon the chestnut filly she wasn't really sure what to think - she was beautiful and very calm. Calm didn't usually bode well with her, though, and so she had been nervous. But as she led the chestnut racer toward the track the filly seemed to become more excited, her pace quickening in a bid to reach the track more quickly.
She mounted, they gated, and then they waited. Waited for the gates to open and the race to begin. As soon as they did Kodak exited, taking an average pace as they moved down the straight. Her red mane pulled back as she moved onwards, her eyes bright as she ran. It was clear she was excited and that she was enjoying herself. Her ears were pressed forwards as she moved quickly onwards, speeding up as they neared the corner.
Her speed continued to increase as they rounded the corner and once it was complete the crop on her flank urged her onwards. Tanya drove the filly, tapping the crop on the filly's flank a second time to urge her even more. They soared down the straight and past the post.
