Another group of horses needed to prepared for the next race, we wanted to keep the good success which our stable was getting. I was on the new horse which was bought during the sales and was doing his race today before retiring to be a stud for our stable. Patting his handsome black neck he was amazing stallion generally calm which was really rare. We are hoping though he would behave himself during the workout as we have another stallion on the track and a mare. I circled him some more, keeping his mind occupied while we waited for the other horses which were going to join us.
The next horse to come onto the yard was the other stallion, but he was younger that Flash. He was gold storm and was lovely black horse, which wouldn't dominated another horse. It was like the colt knew that Flash was older and he didn't want any trouble. I wave to Baylee his jockey and he joined us and Storm gave Flash a friendly nuzzle, which Flash didn't mind but stomped his hoof to show him he had a enough, and didn't want anymore.
Finally the last horse was the bright bay filly and she was moody girl when she wants to be. Once we were all ready we all went onto the dirt track and allowed our horses to breeze for moment, so their muslces were loose and ready for the group workout like they be in the race. The gates were ready and Goldie was placed in first, then Storm and last me with Flash, who can be a temperamental in the gates.
The gates were sprung open and right away Flash was at the lead taken it easily as Goldie and Storm were settling behind. Flash always had the problem taking the lead and I kept on having him there, it was while yet and the stallion still had plenty of stamina and experienced than the two younger horses, even though this was just a workout.
Then the challenged came and Storm sped up threaten to take Flash's lead. The stallion wouldn't allow him and was like showing off in front of the filly which was in the workout as well. While the boys were fighting this out Goldie passed them without any problems and won the workout race. Baylee and I were laughing, as we patted our horses and then led them back to the yard. It was funny since the boys got beaten by a girl, for sure Flash wouldn't allow that happen to again.
