I was walking towards the cream mare who just missed third from the breeder's cup. I didn't mind as I knew the mare had lot more potential and there was always this year, knowing she would do better from the experienced. Patting her neck, I mounted up getting ready for the rest of the turf G5 runners.
That's when I spotted Quin, she ran well in the Breeder's cup as well, ending up third again wasn't bad and we sure she would run again this year. Maybe if we lucky is that Chocolate would win Horse of the Year award, which would be amazing when she have her own foals when she retired.
Lastly the black stallion who was the oldest horse on the track today. He was getting ok, but then we had some problems with him. We were all here now and we were getting ready to do the workout. Each of us allowed our horses to gallop some to make sure they muscles were all relax from the warm up ready for the proper workout.
All of the horses loaded into the gate perfectly fine. Chocolate was behaving and wasn't thrashing her head constantly to the side, so when the gates sprung open, she was able to get into a comfortable rhythm. As always Legend was at the front which was usual for him, as he loved to lead the race, no matter what. Quin was settled just in front of us while we were breezing around the track.
I woken up Chocolate couple of times with a slightly tap with the reins as she was beginning to be lazy. She soon woke up and the two mares were now head to head with each other, the final turn was coming, and as expected Legend was loosing his lead and stamina, Quin wasn't fighting much, like she was keeping her stuff on the real track. So Chocolate took the lead and won the workout race.
We all slowed our horses down and circled them couple of times, so they cooled down a little, even though it was pretty chilly out here this morning, dismounting from our mounts and gave them to their grooms, we got ready for the next tiro horses to work this cold frosty morning.
