Three more maidens were out on the dirt track getting ready for their workouts for the maiden dirt race. Stroking their neck and their were all at different ages and colours.

Firstly we have our second dual surface track racer and dapple grey Arthur. Arthur did well in the last season and was an awesome buy and he was now three year old, the same age as the recent bought chestnut colt Fox. Lastly Lucky who was great in his prospect season so we hoped he would be the same now in his proper race.

The gates were checked and ready for the horses to be loaded into them. Arthur as usual loaded himself in the gate number two. Lucky was a little unsure and fought for a little but eventually he went into the gate. Fox was last to be loaded and was ready for running now.

The gates sprung open and all three horses broke cleanly and began to fight into position. Arthur was last of the main pack, with Lucky and Fox just in front of him. All of the horses were being sensible and kept their stamina for when it was really needed. Four furlongs in the race Lucky started to take the lead, and kept going he the had the stamina. Fox was trailing back allowing Arthur to take over him.

The final turn began to come into the scene and Arthur then got by Lucky withers and began to take the lead from him, as experience was a big impact here and took the lead. Lucky was second and enjoyed his experienced in his second workout and couldn't wait for his proper race, while Fox just had a bad day and didn't feel like fighting this time.
