[/color][/blockquote][/blockquote]Since the last horse of ours was getting her workout, we decided to take her out on the beach with our other cream mare Chocolate. Goldie and Chocolate were best friend and love being together. The race she was entered was only two other races and it was best for the mare to have short runners due to the fact this was her last season was going to be bred with Gold Storm next year hopefully and maybe. As Chocolate finished her workout on the beach Goldie was playing with the water, just to allow her to have some fun before getting to work. It was always fun watching her playing with waves and neighing with delight the same time, and lifting her head up and getting her to canter showing her it was time to get to work she was happy to. The change of scenery have gotten her into a good mood and her muscles were relaxing some more. Remarking the lines for five furlongs again, so she had a fair workout for her race she was entered.
As we waited for her muscles to warm up for ten minutes, we checked the other two horses which were in the race before her. Goldie was scratched from Grade Five with our palomino mare this morning as her last race she won and she was now grade four. So this was her first ever race in grade four. Gate one held a bay mare named The Goodness from Close Racing Stable. She was a front runner and haven't had a bad season for a four year old, all we could hope is that Goldie was able to catch her up in the last few furlongs into the race while the mare is tiring some more. Gate two held a grey filly named Seraphim from Star Thoroughbred Stables. She was another front runner and the start of her three year old season she had come third always. So maybe there was a chance of her losing her stamina. Again Goldie was the oldest in the field and there was on potential danger and that's the three year old grey filly.
Finally she was ready for the workout and pulling her up on the line, she loved the freedom now as there was no gates to hold her in. Obeying she waited for the command, the flag went down and feeling the kick she broke cleanly like she would in the gate. Kicking the sand underneath her she was enjoying the exercise. Hanging back like she would, keeping last position as the other horses in the field were front runners, so she didn't need to worry just yet. Encouraging her speed up just a little, and she responded some more and twisting her head a little while she ran some more. Half way cross the beach she was creeping more forward as she was making her move to second, there was still another two furlongs to go and she didn't want to use her stamina up some more or boxed in by the fighting two horses. Finally the final furlongs were here and she made her full move, showing off her true speed and power under her legs. Stretching her limbs some more she galloped some more and the sand was being kicked lot behind her now, and she cross the line we made up.
The workout for her race was done and there nothing more we can do now. She was ready as she would ever be now. Seeing there was still hour left we decided to all her to play some more as started to have nice regular run with Chocolate some more.
