Nick Landing and Alluring Assault prepping for Dare to Dream Memorial stakes - Nov. Week 2 - 11F - Turf
The Dare to Dream Memorial Stakes was a small field. Besides Alluring Assault, there was ARS' Prize Me Proud and SOPS' Worldbreaker. Nick rode astride the bay filly as he thought. They'd been on the track already warming up for 15 minutes. Allure was now a pro at the routine. Ever since she had come over to IR, she had settled right in like she belonged. Allure was a vivacious and curious filly, it gave her spirit on the track.
Nick again thought about the field as he asked the filly for a canter. Both Allure and Worldbreaker were closers. Prize Me Proud was a stalker. Nick silently wondered how this race would go. Worlfbreaker and Allure would most likely break together slightly behind Prize Me Proud. The field wasn't big so there would be room to manuever come race day. The trick would be to stay on their toes and to stay fresh enought to battle for the win in the final stretch.
Nick asked the filly for a gallop as he gave her more of her head and she instantly responded. Pleased he rode the filly for five furlongs. Nick asked the filly for more and she willingly conceeded. They whirled about the track turf flying. The daughter of BC Turf Winner, FS Waylay Attack, she had never felt more at home then cruising on the turf. Come racing day, they would run true to their style and give everyone a show in the final bend.
Yes, you could say that they were daring to dream...dream of victory.
