The mare was a total cow. She would kick, bite, and lash out to anything, or anyone that would come near her. She was very tempermental, and the only person that would get near this filly was her jockey - the one that was there with her from the start... Megan Watson. Megan was now the owner of a new racing stables. She stood about five foot two, weighed around a hundred pounds, and had raven black hair. So black, it almost had a hint of blue in it.
The morning had broken and the clouds had parted, the sun beamed down on the beautiful dirt track that Green Horse Fields owned. The beautiful black filly stood in her stall, her ears pinned as she gazed around. Hello Jadey, Megan said, peering over the door. Jade pricked her ears and shuffled over the straw to the door, where Megan held out her hand, offering her a treat. Jade snatched the treat out of Megan's hand, and munched it. Excuse me! Megan said in a state of shock, her jaw dropping. She entered the stall and Jade backed up. Never do that again. She muttered to Jade.
Jade lowered her head and pinned her ears. Laughing at Jade, Megan quickly tacked her up and took her out on to the dirt track. It will be good to feel the wind in my face again, the nineteen year old said, brushing her black hair out of her face and blinking away the tears from the wind blowing in her eyes. After a quick warmup, Megan walked the filly to the starting gate. Jade was a good loader. She would load easily, whilst trying not to launch at the handlers.
We waited in the gate for the bell to ring. Megan leaned forward and gripped to part of the mane. When the bell rang, the filly leapt speedily out of the gate, and Megan pulled herself up. The filly began to sprint quickly round the turn, speeding up considerably. Megan drove the filly forward and she came to the top of the stretch. She kept pushing and pushing, and the filly flew under the wire. Well done Jadey! Megan said.
