Hailey Levine who was planning on resting Smiles until the Breeder's Cup Filly & Mare Turf surprised everyone when she enter her prized mare into the Tropical Rainforest Invitational. Of course Smiles had been invited to race in the 10 furlong turf race but no one expected her to run. We were able to speak to Hailey about the surprise entry.
Reporter: So, why did you decide to enter her in the race?
Hailey Levine: I felt that it would be best for her if she had a prep race before the big one. In her works, she just has bundles of energy and we would feel a lot safer if she raced before the Cup. I was just as surprised as you guys when I entered her in the Invitational. We believe she won't let us down. It will be her first real test against the higher graded horses.
Reporter: If she were to loose this race, would she still go to the Breeder's Cup?
Hailey Levine: Of course. We won't back down. She runs better after being beat... It's actually proven. In her whole four year old season she has never been beaten by the same horse more than once. The only way we would back out if she was injured during the race and she's perfectly sound.
Reporter: Does she have a chance at beating horses like Executioner's Apprentice, and others that could be running in the race?
Hailey Levine: She has just as much of a chance at beating them as they do of beating her.
You heard it first, here. Terror Smile will go forth to race in the Tropical Rainforest Invitational.
