White Chocolate and Skye Webber
Workout for
Breeder's Cup Turf Sprint
It was time, the breeder's cup was a week away. Our main entry Chocolate was fresh and ready to run the race. This time she was going to be ready for this. This time she is preforming good to become a champion. With reporters coming to the stable and wanted to know more of the cream mare was incerriable. Still it was unbelievable that a run down horse which was thought to have no talent was thrown away like rubbish. Chocolate was exticting and wanted to run so badly, knowing she was going to take the crown. Last year she came fourth which wasn't bad for the first run. So far she was the only entry, but rumors have speculated that Silver Perfection and Star Thoroughbreds, may have their entries in. Silver Birch is going to be next to her, and might try and dominated the lead, but he is the whole different ball game at the moment. Wrapping her beauitful and delicate legs with exercise bandage so she wouldn't sprain her legs which would be a disaster. Once everything was checked and was ok, Skye led her to the track and lightly jumped onto her back. Soon she saw the track, Chocolate was exticted to get to work.
Breezing for five minutes to make our way to the gates was way of leashing some energy and hyperness. Most importantly the muscles were beginning to get loosen and warmed up as well. The gates were closed ready for us to be loaded, one of the handlers came down. Be perfected and trained more to calm, Chocolate went into the gates without a hitch. Good girl Chocolate just calm down, Skye whispered to the mare's ears and stroked her neck for few. The doors sprung open and Chocolate broke cleanly and quick. Quickly her stride was settled into an even rhythm, which was different than the last work out we did together. The power of speed was in the body, which was from being rested. Pushing her forward, to encouarge her keep some stamina up, the field wasn't expected to be large , which could mean the track be fast and serious. Skye wanted to prepare the mare for this, so she wouldn't be surprised. Hugging the rail as her limps stretched more, but still not in her full gear though. Ears were back as she listened to her jockey for commands, and most importantly enjoying the run as well.
Her heart was set out to win and she wanted to please us the same. The final turning was coming up and Skye asked Chocolate to speed up more, like an angel the mare responded without a second thought. Her move was beginning to strike, as the cream beast began to move away from the rail and towards the middle of the track, like she was weaving in and out between the horses that were in front of her. Blue eyes were looking straight in front and never beside of her, horses were expected to trail behind now. Skye gave the mare her head more and encouarge her speed up more, Chocolate immediately began to make her move and went along the outside, which was new for her. Fear the race maybe fast and hugging the rail, might cause her to be boxed in, Skye took her along the outside. Limbs were hitting the grass more violently, and kicking some of the grass behind her. The horse which was ivsierable began to get closer to her now, the tail was like flying across her nose. Not being frazed by this the mare kept on pushing herself forward.
Then the line was crossed and Chocolate could have gone more, the fully eight furlongs. Sweat was running down her neck and saddle area, Skye pulled her up slowly and gently, she then walked her around in a circle as she got off. Leo came towards her smiling that was amazing work, you to are going to be well! He smiled and patted the beauitful beast across the neck as, they walked off the track together. Chocolate was ready to win this race, this race would determined for her to be nominated horse of the year award, we just have to wait and see.
