Lucky Silver and Kiara White
Workout for
Breeder's Cup Juvenile*
[/color]The colt was shinning and maturing wonderfully. Out of his ten runs he have come first once, second three times and third three times whcih was really impressive for a two year old with a low attention span. This breeder cup race was going to be a risk taker, there were lot better two year olds than him and the favourite to win this race was Instant Success, the chestnut colt was beaten by him in the last race he was in with him. Lucky came fourth in that race, but it was due to lack of experience and work which we should have prepare him for. This time we weren't making that awful mistake with him again, he was going to shine lot better this time. Leo walked with Kiara, as he took her to the track now there is lot of horses in this race, much more than he is used to. Don't feel you have to rush him, but try and get to break a little more. Move to the mid pack around the four furlong mark, settle him into fifth position. Then when you see he is ready to move forward, push him forward, let him run like he never done before, he said and Kiara nodded and she trotted towards the track.
Kiara kept trotting the colt until they reached the gates, his ears pricked forward as he was watching the gate loaders getting them ready. One of the grabbed his brindle and the colt followed him without a fuss, and loaded calmly into the small space. Watching the bars and waiting for them to move, the bell rang and the doors opened, Lucky bounced out calmly and began to gallop. He settled into the back which was normal for him, and hugging the rail. His stride wasn't fast, as he never was taught to be quick in his stride. Kiara knew the field would be fast, so she tapped his shoulder a little to wake him up and asked for more speed. Lucky responded a little sluggish and cantered faster, it was still a little lazy, so Kiara pushed him more. After about fifteen minutes of pushing and fighting the colt, he woke up and started to get to work and gallop fast. You are going to be trouble in that race she spoke to him as she got him settled into the new stride.
As the four furlongs began to come, Kiara got the colt to speed up more, which this time Lucky broke more cleanly and started to obey his rider, and weaved along the middle of the track, and acting like the gap was there, he moved up and settled into the mid pack of the race, in fourth position which was what the plan was in. The chestnut colt which would be Instant Success more likely be in front. Kiara and Lucky imagine him up and he be on his tail a little early than and push this danger colt to make a mistake or which, could be damaging in the race. Lucky wanted to go more forward, and remembering what Leo have said, she allowed him and Lucky weaved along the outside of the preceder and creeping more forward towards the leader. Locking onto his hindquarters, to push the leader to speed up and make it tire more. The final turning was coming up, and Kiara pushed Lucky more and the colt began to respond and quick as lighting he was head and head to the leader, using his courage he kept this up and until he cross the line and the win belonged to him.
Pulling him gently she headed back to Leo and smiled. He was a little devil in the beginning and sleeping mostly Leo chuckled at that command. Well if you can wake him up early like you done here, he could be a danger. When the other horses are around he would be better, maybe next time we have a breezing partner for him to give him some company patting the chestnut's neck. They went back to the yard, and just hope and pray the race would go better than his preparation did.
