The long awaited entries of the famous racehorse stable Star Thoroughbreds have FINALLY been announced. Unsurprisingly, Bank On Greatness has been entered in the Breeder's Cup Classic along with stable mate and Kentucky Derby winner Sunset Crusade. It seems only fitting, since the five year old stallion has won a Breeder's Cup race in every season of his career - the Juvenile, the Marathon and the Dirt Mile. So will the stallion win a fourth Breeder's Cup race, just like his full brother Impressario? Or will Sunset Crusade pull another incredible win out of the hat? Not to mention the rest of the Classic field, who include last year's winner, Moondance, Flashy Wings, who won the Preakness and Belmont Stakes this year, and Limitless Time.
Born To Soar and Silent Fury have been entered in the Breeder's Cup Turf. This means last year's phenomenal Racehorse of the Year will be going up against her incredible half sister Wildly Natural; after winning two Breeder's Cup races on the dirt she is looking for a third Breeder's Cup win, this time on the turf. Three year old Silent Fury, out of Rising Fury and by Grand Silence, is also going up against his half brother Worldbreaker (also by Grand Silence) in this race. The colt was second in last year's BC Juvenile Turf, and won the Preakness Champion Stakes and Belmont Turf Classic this year.
Indian Delight has been entered in the Breeder's Cup Mile. The grade one four year old colt is expected to go in the second favourite, after Executioner's Apprentice who won the Kentucky Open this year. Indian Delight excels at the mile, and after narrowly losing this race last year he will definitely be out to win. Six year old stallion Here's The King has been entered in the Breeder's Cup Sprint against his younger half brother and arch rival Pegasus Wings. Both are sired by Hall of Fame sprinter stallion Royal Red Richard. Here's The King won the Sprint last year and is definitely wanting to win again this year.
As expected, Euphoria's Warrior will be taking on a monster field in the Breeder's Cup Juvenile. The colt, out of Hall of Fame mare Euphoria and half brother of this year's Kentucky Derby winner, currently has a record of 14-6-2-4 meaning he is just a single win from grade three. When asked her opinion on her colt's chances of winning the Juvenile, Sarah Star said I am confident Warrior will give it his all. It is a strong field and they've all beaten and been beaten by one another before, so whatever the outcome it will certainly be a race to remember.
Four year old grade one Windbreaker will take on White Chocolate in the Breeder's Cup Turf Sprint. The Sweet Sugar Cane filly narrowly lost the race last year, after winning the Juvenile Fillies Turf back in Y9. She hasn't been seen out a whole lot this year, but make no mistake - this filly can be dynamite when she wants to and she wants to win.
Passionate Flyer, a highly anticipated but barely seen first foal of HOF mare Simply A Flyer, has been entered in the Juvenile Turf. The colt hasn't been seen in a race since May, sparking injury rumors which Sarah Star was quick to dismiss. Passionate Flyer has had time off simply to mature and train. I can assure you this colt has grown three inches taller, and filled out in all the right places. His times are also significantly faster than they were earlier this year. The colt's record currently stands at 7-1-0-3. He only raced twice after breaking his maiden, so this reporter hopes that what Star says is true.
Euphorion and Furious Passion have been entered in the Marathon. Furious Passion, who became the second GHF Triple Crown Champion ever last year and winner of the Dubai World Cup has had a rather disappointing season this year, with just two wins to his name which has caused speculation that the Rising Fury colt may have peaked at the age of three. Euphorion, son of HOF mare Euphoria and legend HOF stallion Merry Bay King, on the other hand is rumored to still be maturing, with no really notable wins to his name yet. The three year old colt's record for the season currently stands at 22-6-7-4.
Fillies After Dusk and Sweetness Unlimited have been entered in the Juvenile Sprint, with After Dusk likely to go in the favourite. The Beyond The Limits x Dusk Runner filly is a half sibling of Limitless Time, Prize Me Proud, Beyond His Candy, and Sunset Crusade, and the grade four filly is expect to run well. Sweetness Unlimited is half sister of G1 turf sprinters Windbreaker and Deadly Desires, and hasn't been seen very much this year but could pull a surprise.
