Wind Reader and Sam Morgan
The last race was disastrous for us. We entered the wrong surface for our new mare on the block and it was completely stupid on our part, that's for sure. Still she ran good, even though she came last. She hated dirt and we knew that now, which was the main thing. Sam was going to see the mare since he was riding her this season, and he was good with front runners and able to control them lot better than any other jockey. Sam was more competitive and able to get the horse to show the streak as well. Wanted to show Kiara how his horse rides, he lead the mare to the track after doing all the pre race checks. Using a small wooden block he hoped on the mare's back and leading her towards the track and trotted a few minutes.
Come on girl put that lost behind you. You do better this time Reena was in a mood and boy she was showing it. Fighting with the bit and refusing to go into the gates as they were ready. Reena quit it! He yelled and tapped her shoulder. The mare reared for a second, but slowly calmed down, and entered the gates without much of a fuss. Now I am the boss so listen, he spoked to her harshly and the mare tossed her head. The gates sprung open and she rushed out of the gates, even though she caught herself she didn't care and quickly went to the lead, straight away. You stupid mare slow it down, he said more and pulled her back, forcing her keep her stamina down, the mare wasn't happy with this but listened and settled her stride down in a steady gallop pace.
Five furlongs have gone pass and Sam have kept holding the mare back, seeing she was another runner like his black stallion ride. Hopefully this target would help her to keep some speed for the finished. There was going to be lot of runners and with some of the runners, being mid packers, she needed to keep her energy just in case they broke later than she would. You can run a little more he gave her some head, so she was able to stretch a little more. Sam kept this stamina for another two furlongs until it was time for her to make her move, and Sam got ready.
The final turning came and Sam gave her head go Reena! he yelled and Reena responded as she wanted to gallop. Quickly gathering the speed, she turn into a huge speeding machine. The holding back was showing it worked as she had the enough stamina to hold her lead. The length was three and it was amazing, something she was able to achieve before. Cross the line the mare, tossed her head a little as she didn't want to slow down and wanted to carry on more. Listen there girl, reserve that energy for the actual race he chuckled and pulled her up finally and patted her neck, and gave her to the groom. He then went back to the jockey room and rested for while before getting ready for the next mount.
