Special Edition and Aaron Smith
Breezing Workout after breaking Maiden
The recent win from the maiden race was a suprise. The colt loved the attention and wanted more of it now. His next race was with our own colt gambler, even though gambler was older and had more track experience, the colt can be stubborn at times. Aaron patted his neck now is time to try and beat the other side of the competition he smiled and kicked the chestnut colt into a smooth canter. There was no gate training with this workout, it was simple a breeze from winning and to get him ready to take on the grade five horses. Edition was good horse, as he was a winner for best prospect colt by default as no one else wanted to enter. You are going to be a champion like your father Edition. Make your daddy proud he spoke to him and even though Edition didn't understand he snorted and kept the small breezing movement up.
It was time to get into business now. The colts muscles should be warmed up now. Aaron got the colt steady and made him speed a little with the breezing. The workout would be a small one, with six furlongs steady canter, with two furlong full out gallop just like last time. Aaron made sure the colt was settled enough and once the second time around of the track came he got him serious this time. You are doing good boy he pushed him a little and Edition responded, trying his hardest to prove to Aaron he can be a champion as well.
The final turning was coming and it was time for Edition to make his move. Without even telling him, the chestnut colt galloped into action. That's good Edition, keep it up he encouraged him and spreading his limbs more, the colt kept on moving. Nothing was going to take over him and nothing was going to stop him. With every stride the colt moved a little more, and he crossed the line. That's a good boy he patted his neck as he pulled him up and slowed him down back to a trot. Edition responded and trotted again. You done great. Now all you have to do is do it again tomorrow he kissed his neck and led him back to the yard, where he gave him a mint as a treat. Finally Aaron was able to relax and lie down for while, as tomorrow was going to be a great day. Aaron had hopes for the chestnut colt, and he was going to make sure he gets to the top.
