Hi guys, welcome back to the Top Sires column!
This month, only two sires managed to get their progeny to win more than once, and Grand Silence was one of them. Sillenia and Silent Fury gave the wins he needed to be featured here in the Spring Cup. Silencio is also the sire of grade two turfer Worldbreaker, Night Goddess, National Treasure and Dawn of Silence. He hasn't seen any mares this year, but I'm sure his progeny's successes from this month will make sure he gets more interest next season!
The next sire was also featured last month - Impressario. This stunning black stallion really needs no introduction. He is the only sire, thus far, to be featured twice in this column, in his first year of being a sire. Born To Impress and Ventura gave him the wins he needed for the column this month. Impressario has seen a lot of interest so far. His other two year old Italian Ice is doing well and is grade five. She placed third against an older horse field at the Spring Cup. Rumor has it that Oak Hill Farm bred their best, Dare To Dream, to him last year and now have a yearling filly on the ground. Rumor also has it that a foal out of Moondance is on the way. It is clear that this stallion is on his way to producing greats like himself.
I would like to wrap up the column by mentioning some obscure sires that had progeny win this month. Blazing Kiss by Memorial's Blaze is one of those. This filly actually won twice this month, I think. Arachne by Determination is another interestingly bred foal, full to Apollo Bear and going for the Triple Tiara. Dark Charmer won the Spring Cup Grade Three Dirt, and he's sired by the obscure Autumn Storm. Lastly, TDI Live This Lie won the Spring Cup Grade Two Dirt, and his sire is the deceased TDI Secrets of Excalibur. We also saw a bit of Beyond The Limits and Native Flame among others out there this month.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for next month's edition!
