SPIRIT OF JOY

April Workout
Chris welcomed the 3 year old colt back onto the track as he was ready to run. He didn't even bother at the gate and took off the old fashioned way. Taking off immediately onto the track the colt grunted as if he didn't like this approach onto the track. Spirit got 2nd at the Y12 Stable face off and has been trying to match the same place the past few races. The colt had a big future ahead of him and would soon train alongside other horse on the ranch to kick up some more speed.
He ran 7-10 Furlongs on a turf track he was a runner and he was showing it now on the track when Chris had him expand his pace while along the back stretch and that's what he did, Spirit gave it all he had for leading towards the front the whole race. Coming along the finish Chris wanted him to go faster to know that he could freely along the horses winning the game.
Bringing him back in was a little difficult. The colt was sweaty but, not in a bad way. Sliding off the back he grabbed a brush, removing the saddle from the colt and began to groom him for the race to come. Chris had faith in his four legged friend and would pray that April would be a better week than last week. Spirit was ready for more and pounded his hoof on the ground with that. "You did a great job out there boy...Let's gets you back so you can win that race in a few days. He said taking the colt back to the stables to see when the race was.
