The new batch of foals for In Stride Racing have finally been announced after keeping it under wraps all this time. It is the first year we have used all different stallions for every foal.
Catching Fire was bred to the dam of the famous two year old twins, Lucy and Sanguis, Blood of the Angel. She foaled a bay colt two weeks ago named Hellfire, also known as Flame. He is expected to make 16.1hh. He is a real cheeky devil and takes after his father. He does have a cute side though. He will race over both surfaces.
Everyday Hero and The True Nut were bred and they have foaled a beautiful chestnut colt by the name of Black Zephyr. Harry is a bouncy cute colt who has the personality to die for. He's like his mother in every way! Bubbly, attention seeking, and adorable. Out of two hall of fame parents, everyone has there eyes on this colt. He is expected to make 15.3hh. He will race over the turf. He is now two months old.
Now here is a combination that would wow the competition. Foxtrot foaled a beautiful chestnut filly four months ago. This filly already stands fairly large and is quite big already, which could indicate defying her parentage and wowing them all. Foxtrot never raced but always showed promise, and Popcorn Blitz made it to a grade five racehorse, winning the Boys Festival over Wannabe Hero. He is sired by HOF Speed Demon. Bella, as she has been nicknamed will race over both surfaces.
Union Jaque's first foal looks to impress - Prince Caspian, Casper for short was sired by Here's The King, making him a grandson of Royal Red Richard, and a nephew of Hall of Famer, Pegasus Wings. It looks exciting! Union Jaque made it to Grade Four before being retired after an injury. She raced in the Triple Tiara prep races, and is now ready to prove herself as a broodmare. She foaled Casper a week ago. This foal will race over both surfaces.
Now, here is Eclipses' second foal, by winner of two legs of the Triple Crown, Confianza. This grade three palomino racer got beaten out in the Belmont, but very nearly took victory. Remember The Time, or Tammy as she is known round the barn is a very classy filly, now rising three months old. She is beginning to show her true colours. Her conformation is impeccable and she looks like she could wow. She will race over the dirt.
There surprise for us yesterday morning when Wannado Voodoo foaled a month before she was expected to. This bay filly who will go grey was born in the early hours of yesterday morning. She is one of the smallest foals as she was premature. The vet checked her over and she is healthy. Sara is a good mum to her filly who has been named Shantii (Shan-tee) and she has been nicknamed Tia for short. She will race over classic distances on the turf, hopefully as a Y16 Turf Triple Crown contender if she does well enough.
