The last week of September had approached and Reflected in Water was back on the tracks after a months rest. She was in her prime with already 3 wins to her name. One more win and she would move up a grade and she was only a juvenile. Meredith Hently rode Remi to her victories and would always be there for the filly no matter what. The Radiance daughter was a sprinter like her dam Cry Out Chaos, she was to first foal to both parents and he was to determine how well she would prove both lines. She was in turn with Radiant Silver and Radiation Therapy and was the only female of her crop.
The filly on the track with Reflected in Water was maiden filly Rules of Passion. Rula was the daughter Passionate Ruler out of Heart of Stone. She was the full sibling to G5 stallion Ruler's Secret and G5 filly Passion Heart. She was also a sprinter with high hopes but, it seemed that these siblings didn't do well til their 3 year old season but time would tell for Rules of Passion. She was ridden by Terri Lane who rode Passion Heart as well. She would be the breezer horse here but still a good workout.
The two bay filly's were at side by side on the track as both jockey's laughed upon each other on their meet. "Thanks for coming out here with me Terr I want to see how Remi here does with racing companion." Meredith said petting the neck of her bay filly as she looked towards the other two. Terri Lane shrugged her shoulders to her friend. "No worries Rula needed a workout and why not have one with you guys." Terri said as she aided Rula forward as Meredith did the same with Remi.
They would send the filly's out to the seven and see how they would do. Both horses started out in a trot then to a canter Remi immediately forgot about her racing companion next to her and preceded further to the track coming in from the middle of the track. Rules of Passion stalked the other throughout the first few furlongs of this workout. The two were at a full gallop running beautifully out there. They were a force to be reckoned with and Remi was also a tricky filly indeed.
Reflected on Water was entered in the Eagle Cup and including herself their was six entrants in this race which made Meredith slightly nervous to the thought of that many entrants. There had been one drop out. Remi would be up against horses such as Sugar Rush, Crowned Queen, Alucard, and Optimus Unstoppable. One horse that Meredith was extremely keeping her eyes on was Tears No More. This colt was top of his game and Meredith thought the colt would be entered in a higher race but, they would need to work hard for trying to win this race or at least come in the top three.
This Radiance daughter was a fighter and she certainly wasn't afraid to show it. She started to drift away from Rules of Passion after gaining her stamina and her confidence to do so. She nickered as she then gave Rula the dirt as she darted off towards the desired post. Remi had 3 wins to her 5 starts and still held her consistency of a hundred percent. She had not raced out of the top three yet and in turn she was proving to be a wonderful horse but, she was still young.
The filly's past their desired designation Remi a length ahead of Rula. Meredith slowed Remi down back to a trot as she hugged the back of the neck her the bright bay filly. Meredith had never been on such a fast filly and would pray she could take on the horses on this field. Remi held her head high as she played with the bit in her mouth. Terri Lane was close behind as she took a breather from the adrenaline rush she had. "What a rush. That was amazing." Terri said stopping Rula alongside Reflected in Water. The two jockey's then pushed the horses to walk.
"You think Remi could do it?" Meredith asked the lead jockey back at the stables. She was very nervous and was hoping for good results in this race. She told Terri the entrants and she gave an open opinion. "Just relax out there do your best. She is a sprinter but let's not forget her sire was a miler I'm sure Remi can take them on. Just do what you did in July. When she is ready she will let you know." Terri said giving the best advice she could to gain Meredith's confidence up as well.
They returned the horses to the stables to wait for the race day to begin. Meredith wanted this filly to go places she felt she was the next Sprinter to watch and as a juvenile she was amazing to look at. Meredith had high hopes for Remi and would try to take her to the winners circle once again.
