It had appeared Gamble on Peace was in a predicament. The stables had decided to keep the stallion running until the end of the year and possibly show the youngster's a thing or two a few things about sprinting. He was ridden by jockey Chris Stevens, who also rode GS Super Charged to his victory. The chestnut was a grade 3 colt entered into the Gold Cup here at Green Horse Fields and would continue his career until the end of December. Chris grabbed a hold of the reins to the stallion and walked him a bit before he would take him out to the practice tracks.
"It's been awhile Gamble. I have faith in you my friend..I believe you can win this. You've made it this far. Why don't me and you show those other horses who to look out for?" Chris said before grabbing the reins just by the bit and rubbing his nose softly so the stallion could feel praised and confident by his human. He then jumped onto the chestnut's back who bobbed his head slowly towards the movement. Gamble on Peace was on a roll this season but without a win yet Chris would not stop until this stallion claimed his title the proper way.
The Gold Cup had only two entrants so far and that was Gamble on Peace who took gate one and Attractive Flight a grade 3 colt with a wonderful bloodline. Gamble on Peace would need to step up his notch this late in the season and this workout would not just be a breeze but a wake up call. Angela Renzo stood at the sidelines as she held her watch in hand and waved to Chris. "Take him out and get him refreshed. I want to see how he does go all the if you have to but, don't push him hard just breeze him okay." She said before smiling. Chris rolled his eyes with chuckle in his voice.
This wasn't his first rodeo and he knew what Gamble would do. The stallion was a closer something that Chris disliked with a passion as GS Super Charged was the same leg type. But, he knew how to use the closing technique well and in the end Chris would set Gamble loose at the final turn where many others would have watch out for him. He started the chestnut in a trot so he could get the feel of what to do. Gamble on Peace made it this far and he certainly wasn't going to give up.
As he got use to his strides, Gamble moved at a faster pace to a normal run. The stallion felt the adrenaline rush and the dirt tracks below his hooves before he sprinted off onto the back stretch as his hooves echoed in the entire park. He remained on the outside until the turns approached where he moved to the inner side to gain more throttle. Gamble was a force to be reckoned with and he would not back down so easily. His results were shown to be proven swell and not to be under estimated.
He passed the wire with full confidence and came to a slow stop before he was pumped for the race to start. Angela had timed it and it was still the same and just below the track record maybe lesser. The race was just a couple days away and both jockey and horse would be ready and focused. Gambler held his head high as if to say bring it on because that's what he would be doing on race day. He wanted the win and would fight for it. Only come race day will they find the results.
