Lucy McCummins of DRS wants to make her first stud year a good one! She has only two studs, but she will guarantee they will throw some perfect racing babies. "Nobody will be disappointed. I guarantee my boys will sire some great foals" she has said. She wants to give you all a sneak peak at her boys. She added that she is also taking in some Y15 reserves for G4 runner Odd Number Out.
Here are the boys of Y14!
First we have Apollo's Sunset. He is a beautiful cremello sabino stud. He doesn't do well on dirt, but he is great at 6-9 furlongs on the turf. He will throw color, not in all his foals, but some. He will have one foal on the ground for Y14. Independence Day. He is an older horse, but he still acts like a 2 year old. Lucy had this to say about him. "Apollo, gosh, what is there to say about him? I am thrilled to have this horse in my barn. He was a trained steeplechaser. He had a bright future over the steeples and over the turf. An injury prevented him from living his dream of running. You will catch him frolicking around his paddock all the time. He is my first stud. I'd be thrilled to see some foals from him for Year 14" Could Apollo be the next one to cover your mare?
Next, is a handsome gray stallion, Golden Neptune. He is a fiery stallion with a lot of spunk. Like Apollo, he doesn't do well on dirt. He runs 5-8 furlongs on the turf. He was a promising racehorse, but his dreams were cut short. He still has many stud years left in him. He was used to pony young racehorses. He never got the chance to run in an actual race. Lucy knows he will be a phenomenal stud. She had this to say about him "Neptune is young and full of energy. His fiery temperament will most certainly be passed down to his progeny. I wouldn't overlook him. He has a lot of potential. He will give somebody a great turf sprinter. He never had his chance to prove himself on the track, but I'm certain he will prove himself even greater as a stud. " Could Neptune be the next one to cover your mare?
I have to say, these are some promising studs. Lucy will have a good start to the breeding scene. Give her a holler if you're interested! You WON'T be disappointed with the outcome!
