January Week 3 workout
January Week 3 workout
The Apathy was set to race for the second time in January week three. She was a sweet filly sired by G1 Radiance out of G4 Sweet Points. Nicknamed Comet she favored the turf. She was always seen in the paddocks with her older sister Reflected in Water and while the two were different they were best friends in the stables. She was ridden by Carlos Sanchez who had groomed her before entering her onto the track. She was a moody filly and while she gave Carlos a hard time for the first moments the two were onto the track.
The Apathy grunted upon the movements her jockey wanted and started to trot along the start of the race. "Come on girl easy there por favor." He said grabbing a hold of the reins tightly as he moved the bay to a gallop. Comet reared up before attending to her orders and then ran off into the right direction of the turf track. The Apathy finally got into the motion when she exceeded into the back stretch where she extended her stride evenly throughout the track.
She was set this race and while one entrant had already been scratched she would be ready for this race. Pushing herself to go further Comet moved with an even stride. She rose her tail in the happiness of the track. She wouldn't fall nor slip and while she rejected her rider's sayings she pulled away again with her stubborn heart. She didn't like to feel in last so she kept her hesty pace and when she came to the last turn Comet gave it one last shot.
She wanted to do things her way and Carlos couldn't do anything about it. The two were still trying to make a bond with each other. The Apathy then come to the home stretch with her final speed and passed the wire. She did put up a fight to get Carlos off her back. "Comet stop it girl." He said gently throwing himself off of the filly before any danger came to him or her. He did manage to calm her down before walking her back to the stables to cool off her attitude.
