October had it hard, fall season was officially here and all of Nature Blues horses were coming into their winter coats and had to be groomed more likely each day. Meredith Hently surely had her long sleeves on along with some nice new blue denim jeans and her fancy riding gloves to boot. Walking towards the stalls she could see the proud bay filly with an abnormal blaze on her muzzle. Seeing Reflected in Water standing there with the flicker of her tail put a smile on Meredith's face. Meredith approached the bay filly rubbing her nose gently, "How is my tough girl today?" Meredith said before looking at her trainer brother Garrett, "Who you calling tough? I would call her stubborn and hard headed." Garrett said handing Meredith the reins to take her out on her own.
Sable Evans soon came out with a dark bay filly everyone knew, StarFire. The Bucephalus daughter was looking proud and loyal as ever. Meredith usually rode StarFire as well however with new jockey listings, Sable would be her new found rider. StarFire was a filly to hang with the boys so why not give her a jockey of the male gender? Remi was not so keen with the brown juvenile approaching her but with Meredith hopping up onto the saddle that rested on her back she just snorted and brushed it off. The two fillies approached the practice track where Reflected in Water took off in a slow pace StarFire stalking slowly behind.
Meredith was not going to take Remi out for to long it was a little cold and she needed her full energy to keep up with the field she was up against in the Everyday Hero Memorial Stakes. One horse Reflected in Water was up against and she knew her well and that was Battle Wings and the next was Ramirez. Ramirez was the horse to watch for he had age and experience Remi would need to focus on manipulating the stallion so she could get ahead. She galloped away with gentle strides with StarFire on her left and Remi was not allowing the filly to pass without question.
StarFire was to race some time soon she was in need of a workout and why not practice with a stubborn filly like herself. She ran her heart out as she then glided through the dirt like it was nothing. Both fillies were incredible and when they passed the marker both jockey's especially Meredith was quite impressed. These filly's were sparkling and they would become great individually.
