With October being nearly over, the world is left to wonder what Grayson Meadows’ is planning for the Breeders’ Cup in December, and now that we have a pretty good idea of what kind of form our horses are in we present to you our Breeders’ Cup selections.
Tears of Blood - Depends on who all enters the Dirt or Turf sprint, we’d like to keep his 100% consistency as it looks quite nice and pretty
Tears of an Angel - Also depends on what the other entries are as she’s had a rough season.
Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint
Call Me Crooked
Crook hasn’t won since August, but we warn everyone to not underestimate the daughter of Royal Assault and Crooked Fire. Crook was the first juvenile this season to reach Grade Three status and it is something that you all best keep in mind. Call Me Crooked has been doing a lot of growing lately and is starting to look more like a three year old everyday. Lets not forget her putting up bullet works nearly everyday. Her bloodlines may seem to belong to that of a miler, but Crook tackles shorter distances without an issue. Which, anyone who was there to watch her Follow The Hoofprints Juvenile Turf Sprint* runaway could see. Let’s not forget to mention the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint is over Crook’s preferred distance of 6 furlongs. Expect to see Crook taking on the likes of Stiletto Allure, Athena’s Desires and Winged Pegasus flashing her incredible closing kick in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint. Take Flight
Now what would the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf be without the Turf Triple Crown bound son of Merry Bay King and Flying Loose? His bloodlines alone would make almost anyone in the racing industry leap at a chance to get their hands on this colt, and Fly certainly lives up to his pedigree. Reaching G3 early as a two year old, Take Flight can be seen as quite a threat to the likes of Devil’s Flare and Refute. The son of Merry Bay King just ran a impressive second in the Golden Slipper Stakes* and is also beginning to look like a three year old. Expect to see Take Flight flying over the turf in the Juvenile Turf. Breeders’ Cup Sprint
Allouette Divine
Now this may seem to be bold of us to enter her against the likes of Forbidden To Fly but lets not forget who dominated the Sprinter Triple Crown this year, beating out her male foes to take the Red Wine Sprint* and placing second in both the Tick Tock Sprint* and Speedway Stakes*, beating the Tick Tock Sprint winner Optimus Unstoppable twice out of the three races. Allouette Divine has been doing great and although were finding it somewhat difficult to find places to run her, she’s responding well. Divie is still 100% consistent and we intend to keep that streak up for as long as we can. Expect to see Divie flying down the stretch late in the Sprint to clash with Forbidden to Fly. Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf
Dare To Impress
After her failure to win the Turf Triple Crown, many may look at Dare to Impress as a horse that simply peaked during the triple crown season and is something of a laughing stock. We warn you to not think that way. Imp may not be Grade One but she has very good reasons for not being so, only being Grade Four up until her Preakness Champion win, Imp has been facing off against the top four and five year olds in the country since her Turf Triple Crown bid. We’re hoping a step down in class can get her that 10th win to make her Grade Two and better prepare her for the Filly and Mare Turf. Expect to see her clashing with In The Spotlight and Fleet Majesty.Passion Heart
She may not have won since defeating the likes of The Devil’s Hourglass but watch out for this feisty black mare. It’s best to not underestimate the daughter of Passionate Ruler and Heart Of Stone, just at the beginning of this season she had a record of 18-3-3-4 and a consistency of 56%, now in October Passion Heart has a record of 30-8-7-5 and a consistency of 65%. However, her consistency for this season alone is 89% and her record for this season is an impressive 17-7-6-3. Many have been impressed by her comeback from being a completely unknown and brushed aside horse to becoming one of the top threats in the turf division. Passion Heart isn’t one to be ignored as Breeders’ cup time rolls around with her blazing fast speed and lasting stamina. However, the race will prove to be challenging if the likes of Desert Amber and In The Spotlight up in front to challenge her for the lead. We’re considering keeping Ally in a preceding position so she doesn’t burn herself out, and with some training, that would certainly work.-Possibly Entries-
Immortal Flight - We’re more just waiting for him to get his 13th win now and feel it may not be in his best interest to go.
Chatoyant - Been sort of on a downlow as of late, seeing if we can get him to pick it up again, but we don’t know where to put him as of now.Tears of Blood - Depends on who all enters the Dirt or Turf sprint, we’d like to keep his 100% consistency as it looks quite nice and pretty
Tears of an Angel - Also depends on what the other entries are as she’s had a rough season.
