Breaking News From Grayson Meadows!
In an unexpected twist of events Grayson Meadows' Co-owner, Tanner Grayson released unexpected information about the up-and-coming stables plans for the end and beginning of next season! The first bit of information was that the chestnut son of Kentucky Derby winner Bank On Glory and the highly regarded Once Upon A Dream will be running in the Breeders' Cup Classic. Now many may think that this is a horrible move to make for Dreaming Of Glory seeing as he's likely not to finish anywhere near the top 3. A lot of racing fans see Dreaming of Glory as a total flop looking at his pedigree. Glory may be lightly raced for his age, and he may not be having what most would call an outstanding season, if anything to most he looks like he's having a mediocre one at best. However, that could change anytime. In light of the colts recent win, Grayson Meadows decided to try him against the best runners in the country. He's no Eternal Phantom there's little to no doubt about that, but they feel it's a good learning experience (and a great way to possibly waste money) and it may inspire him. If anyone had been watching his works recently they've probably noticed that Glory doesn't exactly work like every other horse. Although spirited, if he doesn't have someone to push him he's not budging and they have to push him quick enough. Grayson Meadows decided he wasn't giving them his all so they got a few speedy horses and set 4 of them up around the track. When one begins to tire and they are replaced by another fresh horse who will continue to push Dreaming Of Glory. He seems to be improving after training like this and definitely has his confidence back. He's only one win away from Grade 3.
"He is literally going up against the best horses in the country. Everyone will likely call us crazy but what happens if Eternal Phantom decides to act as a closer or if he gets out on that lead and comes around the far turn two lengths ahead of everyone and continues to draw off? What will we have then? Well, then we have the Breeders' Cup Classic winner." Tanner Grayson preceded to say. "Red Herring can bombard this horse as much as he wants if anything it'll help him seeing as that's pretty much what we do with him during his workouts, Anodyne can have a run at him and Glory will accept the challenge and run his race. This field is full of speed but no one will expect him to win it and that's what our advantage will be."
The next piece really shouldn't surprise anyone at all. Much to Grayson Meadows' delight (and likely stride of perfection's as well), Passion Heart will be returning for the first half of next season. The coal black mare by Passionate Ruler has been on a roll this season, jumping from G5 to G3 and is two wins away from G2.
"We feel that with how much work we've put into her that we might as well race her until she's Grade 1." Tanner Grayson commented. "Unless she by some miracle she suddenly wins all 5 of the races we have planned for her for the rest of the season including the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf, she is coming back. Unless she has an outstanding season next season she will be retiring as soon as she hits 13 wins as we have a nice date picked out for her." When questioned about who Passion Heart would be bred to he simply smiled and said: "Hail to Prince."
