DECEMBER WORKOUTS
The end of the year was finally here and about which meant the Breeder's Cup was soon arriving. Meredith Hently was jammed up with preparing for new year trainee's, and new horses to ride. She was set to ride Reflected in Water, the bay filly who always put a smile on Meredith's face with her sass and spark each morning. Grabbing a carrot she walked up to her stall and clicked her tongue holding the carrot out to her as she approached the door with a nicker. "A little snack before a good run.." Meredith said rubbing the nose of Remi clicking the lead rope onto her halter and walked her out to the prepping area where she spotted Terri Lane getting StarFire ready to go.
After getting ready Meredith and Terri trotted their fillies out to the practice track with chuckles. "Enjoy your run Mere, StarFire is a little moody hopefully this run calms her down." Terri said moving StarFire forward along the track. The dark bay filly was set to run next week and she would be ready to run. While she hung around the company of colts and stallions, she ignored her track opponents to race to the lead with every hard working step she had. The Bucephalus daughter simply knew how to show her stripes.
Reflected in Water was heading to the top she had a wonderful start with Nature Blues and this small run would get her legs pumping and moving. She was running in the Palm Tree Invitational and next week she would be taking on the DUBAI WORLD CUP. She had a busy end of the year schedule and Meredith would help her get there. Both jockey's held onto the reins as their fillies took on a faster stride's Remi taking her time as StarFire continued at a faster pace. When the right pole arrived the horses came to a trot. Reflected in Water snorted through her nostrils and bobbed her head just a little and StarFire stomped the ground.
They had walked off the track and headed back the stables. December was the last month of the year and the fillies would be ready for anything.
