Red Admiral and Reflected in Water were back in the racing business as seniors of the track, both were milers and both were competitive. The chestnut mare was six years old this being her last year of racing hoping to hit grade one by the end of the year. She was quite forward with things being a proper mare she was gentle in the pasture and paddocks tough on the racing field. She had two horse of the year wins to her name one as a four year old winning the Magic Wand Maiden then last year in the Valorizzare Derby she had demanded that win respectfully.
Reflected in Water on the other hand was a different story and filly bought from a reclaim sale as a juvenile winning three races in a vast row one being the Orchid Cup Fillies. The first daughter by HoF Radiance out of Cry out Chaos was doing a fine job in the making where she rivaled Tears No More throughout most of her Juvenile and Classic year she has also been seen rivaled to Battle Wings in the stables opinion. In her Classic year was when she really picked up the notch. Winning the Santa Anita Derby a prep of the Triple Crown was quite fancing but she had won the first leg of the Triple Tiara the Mother Goose Stakes and that was what really caught the eyes of people.
The light bay filly was on a rampage to score a big name, she had also won the Dr. Fager red mile a popular horse of the year race where she approached Supernatural to a vivid argument. She approached the elder chestnut mare with a strong glare but calm demeanor as if she knew not to mess with the mare in front of her. Meredith looked down at her before rubbing her neck with a smile. "You are a wonderer Remi let's see how far these legs of yours takes us." She said walking to the track with ease of Red Admiral approaching her side. "I feel Addy will have a remarkable season she will be a monster out there just wait and see." Terri said before starting Addy out to look at the track for her own self.
The chestnut kept her sweet nature in bobbing her head from side to side in a playful motion as to aid Reflected in Water in the fun running endeavors. Reflected in Water of course was not having the attitude approached at her and she flicked her tail like a whip and nipped at the chestnut mare before she reared slightly taking off into the lead of the start, Red Admiral galloped soon after the Radiance daughter pushing herself to head into the lead without means end would she let the bay mare take her place in the lead.
Both were head on head competitors while Addy may have been sweet and steady within the stables she was quite the opposite on the tracks. She trampled the dirt with her massive stride and Remi ran on the inside by Addy's stomach view. She held her position to precede the course of Red Admiral taking it easy as it may be she was waiting for the final turn. Remi pushed Addy and Addy pushed Remi however Red Admiral had the age here she held the stamina within most reason and within moments the lead was taken from her by Remi marching into the homestretch like it was nothing in regard.
Red Admiral and Reflected in Water passed the wire with Addy by a nose. The mares were starstruck and they matched the strides perfectly. Both jockey's had been merely proud of them for taking the good route and not trying to kill each other for a win. The race however would depend their fates.
